Contrary to secrettravelers review, we found the castle coaching inn in the 2007 copy of the AA best country pubs for food. My girlfriend and I stayed here last month for a weekend away walking in the beacons and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a warm welcome on arrival and the landlord was very helpful, lending us books on walks in the area for our stay. The food was unfussy and very tasty, i have to recommend the steak! And a well kept pint of cwrw (no idea how you pronounce it) local welsh ale. Breakfast was also above average. The room was clean and comfortable and they are apparently renovating a couple of the others.
Well recommended for a walking break in the beacons!More
