“Undergoing change”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

It would appear that parts of the cathedral are due an update as plans were displayed inside -new toilets, choir area music rooms etc.
The cathedral has changed quite a lot since our visit last May and appeared empty. Large areas of floor space with nothing in them. No floral displays were evident either. The Rorkes Drift model evident on our last visit was no longer there -pity.
Overall disappointing but the tearooms are excellent.

“Cathedral, grounds and cafe very well-maintained. Cafe just been re-furbished.”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

It has the intimacy of a parish church and the fittings of a Cathedral now.
Very good choir with strong force of lay clerks and excellent children culled from local schools. Good guide books and interpretative notices all round the building, but so large that they obscure the architecture. Pure Early English chancel is possibly the most beautiful in the UK. Welcomes will show visits round, from Easter to November. Grounds lead to lovely woodland and riverside walks. Free parking and free entry; open 9.00 a.m. -6 p.m.
