Owner description: The Museum tells the fascinating story of four of the British army's most famous regiments. This long history, dating back to the 1680s, is told through many kinds of objects including uniforms, medals, weapons and models. The regiments have seen action in many prominent events, including the British campaign in South Africa (visit us and discover what really happened in the 1879 Zulu War!), And both world wars. Forty-three of the regiments' soldiers have received the Victoria Cross, and we commemorate their sacrifice and heroism as well as that of all the men and women associated with our regiments who have contributed so much to our country.

“New Curator”
Reviewed November 22, 2011

This is a superb museum which, under its new curator is slowly evolving, but maintains its 'atmosphere.' Well worth the walk from Brecon town centre.

“A must if you have ever seen 'Zulu'!”
Reviewed October 30, 2011

This small museum is interesting anyway with an extensive weapon collection and vast range of objects from the entire history of the South Wales Borderers (24th Regiment) but the Anglo-Zulu War display tells the real story of the regiment at Rorkes Drift (and debunks some of the myths). Helpful staff.

Located next to the barracks just outside the centre of Brecon. On-street parking. Admission £4 adults and under 16s free. No cafe but small shop.
