Why do these fish & chips cafes charge so much.
Very basic surroundings with iflated prices for fish and chips, over £9 each for fish and chips and salad or mushy peas.
No toilets on premises , very bad.
Never again.
there better cafes than this one.

Visited with my mother and daughter. Two tiny cod and chips and a rissole and chips £23. Very small portions, miserable staff and generally a very poor experience. Stay away is my advice.

When we were running out of options for a lunch on a really hot day last week, we decided to take a table outside the Coracle and order fish and chips, and watch the world go by.

Well - what a delight. The fish was moist, succulent and tasty. The chips were lovely fresh cut proper potato chips. The batter was delicious and the chips were cooked just right.

Really good fish and chips are hard to find, but the Coracle easily served up the best.

Staff really friendly. We nearly drove an hour out of our way at the end of our holiday just to return for a larger portion (but we had to leave too early, and the restaurant wouldn't have been open).

Would highly recommend a visit.

Everything about this "establishment" was poor. The girl taking our order could not understand english very well and seemed out of her depth. My wife ordered a pie, chips and gravy as she had not had this for many years. When this arrived the pie was obviously microwaved and the pastry was wet and steaming not crisp as you would expect. The lady who served this seemed very shocked that this was not exceptable as " all are pies are freshly micowaved straight from the freezer" !! My wife's family have run a chain of chippy's in the North-East for over forty years and knows how a good quality chippy should be run. She even spotted all the old tricks of lower quality establishments such as the vinegar being watered down. Our hot drinks had been totally forgotten and we had to chase after these as we were finishing our food. As other people have noted they also have no toilet facilities at this reastuarant ( we also thought it was law to have this). With hindsight I think they could get around the lack of toilet facilities using the excuse that they are not really a restuarant if the truth be known. On the subject of cleanliness the establishment scored 4/5 on the scores on the doors. But from what we saw in twenty minutes included staff sneezing over food and into their hands and salad being put on plates with bare hands and no hand washing between different tasks, then several coffee cups being carried with fingers inside the cups (so as to be able to carry more at a time). Shocking !!
