Just stopped here for two nights. Beautiful location with amazing views. This B&B is well put together, very clean & tidy. Stayed here as part of a riding holiday - has a little drying room for wet boots/coats! Our room was lovely, big comfy double bed and views out of each window. Despite staying over out of season couldn't expect higher level of service. Really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stop again.

The answer is a resounding yes! Having just skimmed all these rave (but so very much deserved and accurate) reviews initially just to bring back happy memories of Ty Newydd I have decided to do my very first tripadvisor entry. Actually I don't travel to many places but why would I need to when I discovered this gem 20+ years ago? No where else can compare. It was a pleasure to read all the complimentary, but so true, things your contributors had to say, the place and the people are as wonderful as they make them sound. My reluctance to review sooner was purely selfish, this place is too good to share with just anyone - there had better be availability for me next year.........maybe meet some of you who obviously also appreciate the finer things in life then :-)

Myself and a coupe of mates stayed here twice, once in August 2013 (cottage) for some training on the hills and again in September (B&B) for the race. The cottage and B&B were both excellent. Our hosts were also very accommodating, allowing us to use their kitchen at 3am for breakfast, informing guests of our late return after the race (post midnight), etc. Would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone heading up to Brecon.

Rachel made us very welcome and we were able to leave our cases in the room at lunchtime. The room was delightful but up two flights of steep stairs which some people might find difficult. Comfortable bed and lovely views over the countryside from the low windows. What luxury to have a bed with a view. The room was immaculate but mind your head at the door!
Breakfast was good but choice was limited to variations on 'full English' and nothing local like Welsh cakes which would have made it special. Location perfect for the Brecon Beacons and for Brecon itself. Right on the canal as well for more gentle walking.

Such a beautiful location. Very peaceful & quiet, but still close to tourist locations. Only problem was following directions. My fault, but definitely worth it when we got there. One night was not enough. should have planned to stay here for a much longer time.

Late booking but super and accommodating host Rachel, made us feel really welcome on arrival. Lovely warm room which has been furnished too a high standard and the bed was really comfortable. Lovely views of the canal and the mountains. Peaceful and rural but centrally placed for walks in the Brecons. Great bathroom with powerful shower and good quality products. The breakfast was fab - I had porridge which kept me going all day on the mountains and the Welsh breakfast was tasty and locally sourced. Couldn't find fault from the free and plentiful information, OS maps, drying room for boots and offered torch for walk to the local pub. Worried that too many people will find this place and book it out! Had a curry at the Gurkha Corner in Brecon and it was fantastic, really well cooked, great service and one of the best curries we've had this year. All round highly recommended.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms avoid squeaky floorboards!

Stayed on the 21st September with my wife in room one. Lovely size room with TV and coffee / tea making facilities. The room has a nicely decorated ensuite.
The bed was really comfortable and the room had lovely views towards the canal and the Brecon hills.
We decided to stay here as we were attending a wedding at Peterstone Court. This b&b is ideally located about 5 minutes drive away.
Friends stayed in room two which was similar in size and layout to room one but was uncarpeted (wooden floorboards) and had a window in the bathroom.
To book the room I paid a small deposit and the remainder by cash when leaving. I think they only take cheque or cash.
The normal book in time is around 3.45pm but the owner Rachel arranged to have the room ready for 12.30pm as the wedding started at 1.30pm. She didn't charge us any extra and was extremely helpful in doing this. There are also some cottages but I didn't get to see these. I was told that room three (above room one / two) was bigger and could cater for children with camp beds. Being an old property I did hear the floor boards creaking from room three but this can't be helped.
The Welsh breakfast is served from 8am to 9 am and check out at 10am.
The breakfast was well cooked and there was also a selection of cereals.
There are spaces for vehicles with ample parking for the number of guests it can accommodate. The sat nav postcode will take you right to the door which is surprising for a rural location.
I would definately stay again.

Room Tip: Room one is carpeted. Room two has wooden floorboards and window in bathroom. Both have great views...
