Nice hotel, friendly staff, clean and tidy room, and nice bar area...the full breakfast on Saturday morning was lovely, lovely thick bacon cooked to perfection, button mushrooms also cooked well, and our toast came on the side of the plate the same time as the breakfast, which we liked, and both my husband and I really enjoyed it, so we were really looking forward to our breakfast Sunday morning, but unfortunately we were very disappointed,it was a totally different experience to the morning before, firstly we sat down and the waiter took our drinks order,a couple came down about 5 minutes after us and he took their breakfast orders and we still hadn't been asked for ours,so they got served before us,which isn't a big deal I know.. then the toast came out and breakfast finally came about 10 minutes later,it was a totally different breakfast to the day before, the bacon was really thin and it had a strange oily taste to it,and you could taste the griddle it had been cooked on,there was one flat mushroom instead of the nice ones we had the previous morning that tasted of the same oil, beans came in a little ramekin today unlike yesterday and no black pudding which we had really enjoyed the day before,so all in all we were really disappointed...I think it must have been a different chef on,because the breakfast the day before was 100 % better than today's

Thank you for your review, on Saturday it was me who cooked the breakfast (Manager) and I am pleased that you enjoyed it. I shall speak to the actual chef and discuss with him how to make a breakfast like mine

Best wishes
Shaun

We visited the Wellington Hotel for the first time, with friends, to attend the Fan Dance on the 18th January. We received such a warm welcome by the owner, Shaun, who did everything possible to make our stay an excellent one. We ate on the Friday night and the food was superb, good size portions, tasty food and at exceptionally good prices. The bar boasts a warm and friendly atmosphere, perfect to socialise with friends and our dog who also received a warm welcome accompanied with lots of doggy treats! The bed was so comfortable, we had a lovely sleep. Thanks to all the staff at this hotel - we shall be returning again soon.

We was visitig Brecon. The appearance of The hotel made me and my work colleague venture in. From the first step inside it was warm and welcoming. The staff on the bar (Sarah and Way)was so kind and where able to give us advice about the Sunday lunches. The presentation of the lunches was outstanding the seasoning was excellent. Complements to Luke the new chef. Really please tell all round. 100% will be returning.

Lovely food, good choice and hot and plentiful, great service, friendly and efficient. Lovely atmosphere in the pub too for a Sunday evening in Brecon. All the family enjoyed the evening, will definitely be back!

We visited the Wellington Hotel in Brecon on the Sunday before Christmas and were delighted with the roast dinners on offer. There were five different roasts to choose from catering for all tastes in our party. One of us chose pork, one of us had turkey and the other family member had nut roast. They were all equally delicious. The meats were moist and melted in the mouth. All meals were served with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and a plentiful selection of vegetables which were all steaming hot. My father who is over 90 and usually has a small appetite completely cleared his plate! We will definitely return next time we are in Brecon.
