We arrived at Wrexham General station 2 hours ahead of time, for a train to Chester, and then, one to London, because there was about an inch of snow, and we thought that there might be various delays.
While we waited, we enjoyed some superb cake (traditional Welsh bara brith) and freshly made sandwiches, along with latte and a pot of Earl Grey, in this cozy location.
The ladies who run this cafe explained that members of the local community come here for lunch, and that in the few months since the cafe has moved to much larger premises, there has been lots of support. This is very well deserved!
The small station is a delightful example of Victorian architecture, which lends an air of a past age. It was a lovely place to hang out and wait on a cold winter's day.
