Amazed to see only relatively thin metal sheet holding all that water and canal boats at such a height ! You meet really friendly people enjoying their boat holiday. Great views !

Amazing views over the Dee valley. Well worth a visit and walk to Chirk to take in the aqueduct , a world heritage site.

A fabulously breath taking day out. With snow still on the high ground and an icy wind blowing, it was a scary but exciting walk across the 127 foot high aquaduct. Will definitely return and spend more time exploring this magnificent feat of engineering

Gorgeous views, although if you're scared of heights, I wouldnt recommend. On a nice day its well worth the walk along the canal, and a stop off at the pub. Great day out.

Between the improbably named village of Trevor and its neighbour Cysyllte on the opposite bank of the river Dee lies a masterpiece from the early industrial revolution. The aqueduct carries the Llangollen canal over the valley and reaches 38 metres (126 ft) in height.

A footpath runs alongside the canal, presumably in the early days for the horses to draw barges across the aqueduct. Despite the railings running along the edge of the footpath it still seems precarious, but that must be nothing to being in a barge and experiencing the scarily unfettered view of the treetops and river below to one side.
