The hostel was very clean and everything worked. The man who ran hostel was awful, really bad with people and I couldn't see why he was doing that job. The other member of staff was female and she was really nice. We had a great stay for 3 nights, saw an amazing side to Snowdan, awesome! Would go again but not to that hostel.

Our stay was ok
Staff were very polite and helpful
The rooms were abit small
There was only one plug socket for 2 people not enough
Way too noisy staff should stop this from happening
You could hear people running up and down stairs, water pipes, toilets flushing and turning of taps

We had to make our own beds which wasn't hard but you wouldn't expect your guess at home to make there beds.

Breakfast was nice good selection
Should be warned that there's no phone signal on website.

You can't open the windows as room was too hot.

Hope this feedback helps you and doesn't afend you

Thank you

Peter and Owen offer amazing hospitality and versatility all with a sense of humour. Our party of 9 would challenge the patience of the most, especially our complicated dinner orders and constant replenishing of alcoholic necessities. Felt sorry for those microwaving vesta curries. No need - the meals are fabulous and great value. Leave your hair shirts at home and enjoy a couple of bottles of Jack Rabbit Red.

Horrible, puka shell guy at the reception was a jerk. Room was dirty and we paid for wifi that didn't even work. It says on their website they have a laundry facility but when we asked to do a small wash (due to our soaked cloths cause of the rain) he refused to let us use it cause he was leaving. We will never be back.

The location of this hostel is perfect for exploring this beautiful area. The accommodation and facilities are typical of most youth hostels. The breakfast was adequate and the self catering facilities were good. There was lots of information regarding weather forecasts, nearby walks and attractions. Opposite the hostel is a wonderful, peaceful lake which is great for swimming. The only downside to this hostel, which is typical of most, is the constant slamming of bedroom doors. I presume this is for fire regulations, but it is very annoying hearing this til late at night and early in the morning.

Room Tip: Request a room on top floor or not next door to shower and toilet doors which slam very loudly

Staff are very friendly and clearly gave all the house info you need.
Facilities include comfy break-out room as well as well-equipped kitchen, games room, large dry room as well as a bar well-stocked with cider & wine.

Close driving distance to a collection of pubs as well as stop on the steam railway. Not to mention the clear-water loch across the road. Located on main road north with onsite parking.

Decor getting a bit rustic but everything is clean & well maintained. No complaints...

Room Tip: Get a room facing loch for best views of setting sun

I was a little wary of staying in a Youth Hostel with my wife and 3 kids (age 8-12) but was attracted by the location and the price. You can't fault the place itself - for £80/night we were in a fairly comfortable family room with 3 sets of bunkbeds - the kids thought this was great, and especially enjoyed playing table football and pool in the games room. It was a plus that they served 2 meals/day; breakfast for £23 filled us up and was of good quality. We ate dinner there twice (it is a several miles to any other establishment) for about £50 for five, and again it was ok.
My only complaint was a minor one, but as a father with daughters it mattered; After climbing Snowdon and returning just 15 minutes before we were due to eat supper - you have to book and pay in advance - I asked if we could eat 30 minutes later, to give my wife and kids a chance to freshen up from a full day on the mountain. This seemed to slightly annoy the manager. Then when they served my 8-year old daughter the child's portion of spag bol; she didn't much like it but was very hungry (she's not a fussy kid). I tasted it and it was pretty meagre, so I very politely asked the manager if they might be able to just put a little grated cheese on top (to give it some flavour). He stated "they didn't have any grated cheese", and that was clearly that, as far as he was concerned.
Now had I been eating in a decent pub or cafe for the exact same price, I would have expected him to make an effort. Instead I found myself a bit angry, but not wanting to cause a fuss. But there was clearly cheese on the menu in a variety of dishes, and they had a fully equipped kitchen. Find the cheddar, find a grater, and get on with it man.
We were there for 2 nights and them went to the Llanberis hostel for 2 nights, which is definitely a step up in every regard. Lovely people running the place and much fresher, brighter and with more open space around the property for the kids.
The main attraction of this place is you are within 100 yards of the start of the Ranger Path to the summit of Snowdon. There is a car park there - Next time I might stay elsewhere and just drive up.

Room Tip: Consider staying at the Llanberis Hostel instead if you don't need to be right by the start of a...
