“The best tea room in Wales”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

We have known Steffan for over 12 years and have always enjoyed our visits to this most unique of tea rooms. It is an absolute gem of a place that simply oozes charm with a welcome and hospitality that would put many a grand hotel to shame. This week Pen y Ceunant was our base for a sponsored walk and Steffan very kindly let us park our cars there to enable us to walk from Pen y Pass up the Pyg Track. On our return we were treated to a sumptious buffet tea that Steffan had organised for us; the table was laden with food and it was a brilliant end to what had been an excellent day on Snowdon. Many thanks Steffan for all your help and for making the day so special. “Steffan was a superb host and a legend!”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

What a fantastic place to go after a Snowdon bimble. We went up the mountain but only managed half way up because of the ice high up. We were a family party of 8 from Wales, England and Australia. We dropped in on the off chance of a cup of tea and a cake before we made our way back to our cottage. What a find! Steffan was such a fantastic host. When it's advertised that the hot chocolate is the best, they aren't joking - its really good! If you are going up from Llanberis on a trek, you simply have to go there to see it to soak in the views, atmosphere and superb host. Stefan even gave us bara brith to take back to the cottage to give the older members of our family party to sample as they missed out on all our fun as well. Diolch yn fawr iawn x

“Warm welcome on a cold day”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

Not a big place and a limited menu, but a very warm welcome with a log fire.

The hot chocolate and Welsh cakes with jam and cream were welcome and fortifying. A "must visit" if walking up Snowdon.

“Hot chocolate & free welsh cake”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

A lovely warm welcome from the host and the roaring log fire were just what we needed after walking up Snowdon in temperatures of minus 4. The hot chocolate was brilliant and we were also given buttered Welsh tea cake free of charge. Would definitley visit here again next time we attempt the climb!

“A gem.”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

Pen y Ceunant Tea Rooms .....a gem. We called in to warm up after a walk up the path, with friends from across the globe (Columbia, Spain, France, Ireland and England.) Stefan, as always, made us feel so welcome and the hot chocolate and Bara Brith were simply delicious. The Sir Kyffin Williams display is well worth a visit. Diolch yn fawr Stefan, bendigedig.
