I couldn`t agree more with barbarabev! We had a very similar experience last weekend.
Booked it as part of a KGB or Groupon deal.
The room was comfortable although very dated. The bathroom was a bit dark and grubby with a crazy mixer shower, but we coped.
We ended up in bed quite early both nights, (all that fresh air) at around 9pm, then the music started. Very loud until about midnight. At least on the second night we were prepared and knew it would stop eventually.
The dining room and lounge bar were nice, but cluttered with ornaments and knick knacks.
The staff, though very nice were very noisey. Shouting and clattering in the kitchen without any regard for the diners that are very much within earshot.
Nice view of the mountains from the breakfast room, it felt very serene until the hoover came out before we had even finished our food.
It`s a shame because it has the potential to be very nice, especially in such a beautiful area.
Would go again if a few refinements were made.

The staff were pleasant and obliging, the hotel clean and tidy but tired. Set in the middle of the town it was in an ideal position just up the road from the Snowdonia railway as well as easy walking distance from the Electric Mountain centre.
Our room was large with a comfy bed which is always a good start! Although we were situated over the bar area there was no noise on the nights we stayed. Breakfast was the usual fayre with plenty of choice situated in an airy conservatory served by a very obliging waitress.
Do not expect too much from the restaurant, over fried chips with duck that had next to no meat on it served once gain by a lovely waitress!
A KGB deal which was good value with a free bottle of wine with each evening meal only just made up for the meal. Must have been the chefs night off!

Stayed two nights here on a special offer deal. The booking was efficient and the room was quite adequate for the time spent here. Car parking is inadequate, though; when asked where else to park helpful comment was not forthcoming. Parked in a residential side road opposite and a few yards past the hotel.

Ate in the hotel first night, quite ok - no room for dessert! Ate in the local Indian the 2nd night - recommended. Breakfasts are standard fare, plenty to fuel up on and very pleasantly served by the morning team.

If you plan to walk from Pen y Pass car park be aware that it's often full by 9am, AND it now costs £10 for all day. (I remember when it was just a small gravel area and if you got there before the kiosk attendant it was free!)

Room Tip: We didn't make a choice, but if you have a special request then I'm sure the hotel would do its best to oblige.

Just come back from having a group meal. Wow, we waited 1 and a half hours after ordering for our food to arrive. The ood was ok, but I'd never go back with the service that's on offer. We got put into a room and felt quite abandoned. Maybe stafing problems that night, but disappointing.

Had a lovely night in llanberis, the hotel was advertised as only accepting 2 night stays, but the staff were very helpful in putting us up for the 1 night. Lovely clean room, with all you need, tea and coffee facilities, but only 1 pkt of biscuits for my mrs and i to artura over. We had afew drinks at the heights pub, nice friendly atmosphere. The scenery though is priceless at this time of year with the snow,we will definately be going back.
