“Wonderful hosts and a great B&B”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2013

We have just returned from a really enjoyable 6 night stay at Plas Coch.

What made our stay particularly special can be summed up in 3 words - "Jim and Eryl" (the owners). They are a great couple who are clearly passionate about looking after their guests, and nothing is too much trouble. We enjoyed their company over drinks in the evening and it was nice to chat and get to know each other. They are genuinely lovely people.

The house itself is beautiful and located very conveniently for the shops and eateries in Llanberis. We took advantage of The Heights pub across the road on most evenings! Our room was very clean and tastefully decorated, with a really comfy bed. The corner position offered fantastic views of the Snowdonia countryside.

Breakfasts were a real treat. There was a good selection with everything prepared and presented beautifully. Other treats included homemade cakes (and bonus sausage sandwiches!).

Jim and Eryl really deserve to be successful and are clearly in the right business. We thoroughly recommend a stay at Plas Coch and are looking forward to returning in the future.

Thank you Jim and Eryl for such a fantastic stay and for looking after us so well.

We have just returned from 3 nights with 4 friends at Plas Coch. We are all elderly, and have spent a life-time staying in different hotels all over the world. Nothing in 80 plus years has beaten Plas Coch. From the moment we arrived, from east, north and south, we were made very welcome by Jim and Eryl. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The breakfasts were fantastic, and the extra touches, like cakes provided in the afternoon for guests to help themselves, all added to a wonderful few days. Jim and Eryl have developed a very special venue.

Just returned from a week's stay at Plas Coch. We find it very difficult to add to recent reviews and can only agree with the positive comments we read. Jim and Eryl are certainly the 'stars of the show', being very generous and genial but never overpowering. They are accommodating in the widest sense of the word and go beyond that extra mile to please.

Plas Coch is a great place to stay! A large, spacious old house, fitted with quality fittings and furnishings and clean and very comfortable. Add to that the quality of the breakfast provided (superb fresh summer fruit with my cereal, good bacon and a Danish pastry if you’ve room for it) and it is probably sufficient to warrant the full 5 stars. However what really made the stay for us was the “it’s no trouble we are here to help/assist/provide” attitude. Before climbing Snowdon I was asked if I would like a complimentary flask of hot tea or coffee to take with me. Having forgotten my map I was told: “Oh borrow ours”. The homemade cakes in the evening were a nice touch too – especially if you have foregone a pudding at dinner. I know overly-attentive service can be a little off-putting for some but Jim and Eryl are not fussy and do not fuss – they genuinely do try to help and in our case succeeded. Within easy walking distance of most of the visitor attractions of Llanberis with good off-road parking too. Thoroughly recommended and would love to return.

We have just returned from another trip to Snowdonia but this one was made more special by staying with Jim and Eryl in the lovely Plas Coch Guest House.
The house is beautiful and the rooms/facilities top notch but what really makes it special is the owners. You are really welcomed into their house like an old friend and nothing is too much trouble for them they really want you to have a good time.
The breakfast is superb and the little extras such as home made cakes every day make this guest house stand head and shoulders above the rest.
The toiletries are all really good quality( and I am fussy) next time I won't even bring my usual truck load of smellies!
We both can't wait to visit again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: All brilliant and even if you don't have a bath in your room you can use the guest bathroom.

We had not visited Plas Coch since Jim and Eryl took it over, and we were delighted to find such a genuinely warm and friendly welcome waiting for us. The rooms have been done beautifully, the garden was a treat and the breakfast was superb. Going home after three delightful days and nights was made even harder by the feeling that we were saying goodbye to good friends. The only comfort was the knowledge that we will definitely be back!

Diolch yn fawr iawn, Eryl a Jim. Byddwn yn eich gweld y flwyddyn nesa'.

We arrived very late on Friday 23 August but Jim made us feel so very welcome. I loved that he knew exactly the type of ladies we were when he pointed out the emergency wine glasses! I have stayed at many B&B's and Plas Coch simply is the best of the best. Jim and Eryl make you feel so welcome (Eryl's cakes are to die for and just what you need after a day climbing Snowdon!).

The rooms are spacious, clean and inviting. The bathroom, again spacious and clean with the fluffiest towels! Small things such as good quality furniture and big white fluffy towels give the B&B a five start rating. The lounge area feels like you're at home, so much so that you feel you are at home.

It's not often I rave about a place but you will be hard pressed to find such an amazing B&B. The breakfast covers all choices; welsh breakfast, salmon, poached haddock, fresh berries...the list goes on. If you're going to Llanberis, this is the place to stay - it's that simple.

Lastly, if you want a great evening meal - go to the peak restaurant. Food was excellent. The heights opposite Plas Coch is great for pub grub and a drink but The Peak is something different. Oh and I should mention the garden, a little oasis to kick back and have a glass of wine..or two.

Before you leave, get Jim to give you directions to the waterfall...it's worth the 15 min walk as you discover a hidden gem in Llanberis.
