“Lovely”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2012

Was quiet on the day we went. Felt like a world away and was surrounded by some spectacular views. Not really for the less mobile.

You can get to this tiny castle off the road to the slate museum or from the grounds of the victoria hotel.

“Great views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012

Fairly easy access, apart from steep steps actually up to the cstle itself..very very narrow and steep steps inside the spiral stairs set inside the keep.
Could do with a bit more info about the castles history...limited to just one info board.

“Atmospheric ruin”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2012

It's well worth the walk from the end of the lake over the slate bridge to visit this ruined former castle of the Welsh Princes. The views over Padarn Lake are wonderful, and best of all there's no entry fee!

“Nice walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2012

We walked to the castle from the hotel it was so peaceful and a wonderful view of both lakes from the castle itself. A little slippery underfoot - had been raining all night.
