This hotel is a great base for a walking or climbing holiday.
Warm and cosy bedroom. Spacious with good facilities. We had both a bath and shower.
The restaurant food was very good with generous portions. The Winter Break deal was excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Room 205 was bright light and sunny, with lovely views

It has a great location from travel , not only for Snowdonia, but also for the other part of North Wales. Reception are very friendly and very helpful. Its price is so cheap and value for money. Don't forget to take a picture of the beautiful view in dining room.

Grand old house showing a few signs of age. Paid £31 for a massive, well decorated room with reasonable en suite facilities. Friendly check in, mountain weather forecast available in reception. Used the bar in the evening. Sky tv (enabling us to watch Norwich beat Man U!), reasonable priced beer and good hearty food. Only one slight let down on the food but overall fantastic. Two courses and three rounds of San Miguel cost us £60 so good value for money. Customer service was fantastic, haven't stayed in a friendlier hotel in a long time! Continental breakfast included in the price of room. Fantastic selection, tomato bread rolls to die for and all fresh and of a high standard. Upgrade to cooked breakfast for £2.50, didn't have it ourselves but looked great for the price! Restaurant overlooked Llanberis and the start of Snowdon which was beautiful. Convenient location for our weekend of walking. Overall, this hotel represents the best value for money we have ever encountered, bearing in mind we regularly use hotels and the customer service that accompanies both the value and location tops it off to be a fantastic hotel. Would happily come and pay £50 and still be happy with the price. Recommend to all, especially walkers and hope to visit again soon.

Excellent customer care and food was great too.

The location is great the hotel looks grand from out side and reception area lives up to thr hotels name, we were begining to wonder how we could have got our stay at such a good price. however corridors show age of hotel but still fine, our room on the second floor had the wow factor when we opened door all looked very new and modern. But sadly the standard of house keeping is low and if they are not careful the rooms will soon spoil. we had mold underneth the shower and all stains of mold and mildew on the tiles in shower, these could all be avoided with proper cleaning and products ! also had hairs on bathroom floor and a dirty sink. Going back to the SHOWER it DID NOT WORK ! not good at all this is so bad no mater how little you pay you still need the shower to work! and not having a bath in room this was not good, the shower worked on cold but simply no power for warm or hot. I can not see this shower ever working unless a hole new system is put in the hotel, the new showers in rooms just dont have the power (any power) needed. Better cleaning of rooms and working showers would make this a 5 star hotel x Breakfast great .

Room Tip: ask for a working shower

Stayed here as part of a coach holiday in September of last year,

Food was great, well kept real ales on Handpump and the staff couldn't do enough for you.

Had an excellent room on the second floor 217 i think it was. Very comfortable.

The only downside was the weather but theen what do you expect in North Wales!

I booked this as a fairly last minute Saturday night stay-over with a friend, and we loved it! All the staff were helpful and friendly, the room was fine, and the food was excellent. We paid £69 (in total) for the room, continental breakfast, a 3 course dinner, and we also got 2 free tickets to Caernarfon Castle. Fabulous. And the area is stunning, amazing views of Snowdon. Will definitely stay again.
