We, the Mad as a Bag of Ferrets Club, from Tunbridge Wells, have been using this hotel for over 15 years. It is still excellent. The food, service, rooms, and ambience are excellent. The pizza and a pint night is excellent, great food, and amazing value for money. The normal menu provides an excellent set of options, all of which are delivered well cooked, piping hot, by friendly staff. There is always hot water available when you get back from a wet/muddy or even hot day out on the bike or walking. Breakfast is great, and Heidi and Russel, and their team are briliant. Back this year in November for another long weekend...

we called into the hotel with our two young children for dinner and took advantage of the 'pizza and a pint' for a fiver deal. the pizzas were huge and full with topping, they were delicious! The childrens meals were reasonable and the children really enjoyed them. The staff and owners were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome which doesnt always happen when you take young children to a restaurant. They were also happy to tell us about the local area.I would definately recommend this restaurant/hotel with its welcoming atmosphere and especially the freshly made pizzas!!!

I stayed at the Gallt y Glyn with 2 friends in a triple room whilst on a climbing weekend.

Pro: Heidi, Russel, and the rest of the team were incredibly hospitable, friendly and went out of their way for us. The breakfasts were awesome, just what you need before a day of climbing, and the dinners were excellent and hearty with generous portions (excellent pastas and pizzas with one of the best house red wines i have had). The room was clean, comfortable and great value for money.

The room was on the small side for 3 sharing however when you have spent most of your day either on the mountain or at the bar, the size is not a major factor.

i would definitely recommend the Gallt y Glyn and i would stay here again.

This is the second time we have stayed and once again not dissapointed.

It does what its says on the tin, friendly staff, excellent food, especially if you are a Pizza lover

The bar is sociable and the beer seems to change brands, which is great.

The rooms are clean, comftable are good value.

All in all excellent base to stay at for those visiting the areas.

Another bonus is the owners know the area for hiking and cycling etc, so are a good source of info and have a passion for their surroundings.

The location is ideal, with several of the major walks nearby/

Definately a place I will be going to again and again.......

This is the second time we've stayed in the last 12 months. Two words sum it up: Friendly and helpful (oh and the bar/restaurant is full of locals which is always a good sign!).
First time we stayed was through a recommendation (lets face it there is no better way of choosing where to stay)
This time it was a no-brainer: it was the obvious place to go back to. Booking was easy. I phoned and left a message which was promptly returned (this is a guest house and not the Ritz so don't expect a 24 hour receptionist). I was booking for a LARGE party (20 of us) so took up all of the space: 2 doubles, 2 twins, 2 family's and the bunk house (currently sleeps 6 but they are just about to renovate this). The bunk house is handy if you're booking for a group for doing stuff on Snowdon (a stone's throw away) or, in our case a scuba diving trip on the Menai Strait.
Car park is plenty big enough.
Rooms: cosy and clean and warm. Most en-suite.
Noise. very quiet between rooms and none from the road.

Bar/restaurant:
VERY comfortable sofa area but very popular so get there early. Tables and chairs are a mixture of sizes and styles... They do a great pizza+beer night and now a steak+wine night. V reasonable prices and good portions. Plenty of choice. The local ale is FANTASTIC! Usual wines and big selection of shorts. With 20 of us they could have struggled but nothing was too much trouble and service was always with a smile.

Full breakfast the next morning with fresh coffee or tea. Plenty of cereals toasts and jams. And, again, service with a smile.

If you want a sterile hotel chain then don't come here.
If you want the best of UK B+B with friendly service then you'll be in the right place

I herd about the Gallt Y Glyn from a friend who lives locally who had recommended it as a great place to go to for dinner but that it also offered B&B accommodation. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had great views out towards Snowdon and the owners were very accommodating and friendly. The bar offered the most fantastic handmade pizzas and the bar was a very relaxing place to eat, drink and relax. I would definitely visit again.

We have just stayed at the Gallt y Glyn as a family group for the International Snowdon Race. The Guest House was very welcoming with friendly staff and great food served in the evening. Awesome views of Mount snowdon to be seen from the outside seating area.

Room Tip: Comfortable rooms
