Well what can I say? Having been a visitor to the area for a decade or so, this place is perfect. A short bus or taxi ride from Llanberis but Tucked away enough to give you a sense of a secret escape.
Tim and liz are lovely, very organised and you can tell they really care about the cottage, the area and their guests.
There are miles of walks as soon as you step out the front door. Or cosy up in the beautifully renovated cottage, in front of the fire.
We only stayed a couple of nights and will definitely be returning. Cannot recommend it enough, although I may regret saying that as I will have more competition to book it in the future
Booked this place as a birthday treat for my wife, with grand ideas of plenty of walking around Snowdonia. The Beast from the East and Storm Emma put a stop to that! That being said, the property was so cosy and homely, that neither of us wanted to leave anyway!
Tim was in touch following the booking to offer bits and bobs like extra firewood and coffee pods as well as to provide detailed directions to the address. In fairness, following sat nav takes you straight there with no drama.
The property itself is a beautifully refurbed stone cottage. The centre piece of which is a large dual fuel burner that provides enough heat without the use of the heaters. The kitchen is well equipped and sits below the mezzanine bedroom, which is cosy and encourages lazy starts to the day! The place is very tastefully finished and we found ourselves wanting for nothing while we were there.
Tim had provided milk, bread and Welsh cakes amongst other items to help settle us in. This was a nice touch and very unexpected.
He was a very friendly chap and was very quick to provide battery powered lighting when the storm got so bad the power for the entire area got knocked out!!
If you're after a base for a walking holiday, this may be slightly too far away from the start of the popular walking routes, however the Snowdon sherpa bus service may be of help there and Llanberis is only a 5 minute drive away. If you want a relaxing couple of nights away from the rat race and not be pestered by anyone, then you could do worse than to come here, we loved it and were secretly hoping the guys coming after us couldn't make it so we could stay longer!!
A lovely, clean and comfortable cottage with log burner in a great location.
Absolutely fantastic stay and would highly recommend. We couldn't have wished for a nicer accommodation for our short holiday.
We loved our stay here, the cottage is in a fantastic location, public footpath right outside the door, great for the dog. Tim and Liz were lovely and very helpful, I can't wait to go back and continue exploring the beautiful Snowdonia and to come back to a beautiful cottage like this after a days walking is amazing, I would have no hesitation to recommend the cottage
The cottage was beautiful & true to its photos & well equipped for a comfortable stay. The owners Liz & Tim were very friendly & helpful but not at all intrusive.
It was a great location to explore the surrounding countryside by car. I stayed for 13 nights from mid September and it was very relaxing. Although the cottage sleeps 4 I do think that would be a bit of a squeeze - I stayed by myself but had family stay over with me for 1 evening.
