We have just returned from a relaxing 48 hours in the beautiful suroundings of Snowdonia. We stayed at the Tyn Y Fron which was everything we could of wanted. Beautiful rooms (number 4!!!!), great breakfast, lovely views and excellent hospitality and we loved Ben the three legged dog!.
Highly recommend it and also a meal at "the Bistro" rounds off a great evening.

This B&B has a 5 star award from the Welsh Tourist Board and it's easy to see why. The facilities are everything you would want and Lesley, the landlady, is very helpful. Our room, although a little constricted, had plenty of storage, with DVD and satellite TV, and all the little extras one could want. Lighting, often a problem in guest houses, was good, and the double bed was comfortable. There was a varied range of tea and other drink sachets, plus chocolate biscuits and mints. The views are great and there is a large garden for guests to sit in. The breakfast room is combined with a comfortable lounge where residents can sit and talk or read. There is adequate parking. We enjoyed the interesting walk to the village shops and restaurants (farm, field, river bridge, across two narrow gauge and one main-line railway and across the green).

The breakfast menu has some interesting alternatives to the usual 'full Welsh', though you need to order your cooked meal the previous night. I was disappointed that the fruit was tinned, rather than fresh, and it would be nice to have a true continental option to a cooked meal, such as cheese, cold meat and speciality breads, rather than toast, jams and cereals. But this is personal taste and somewhat compensated by having ground decaffeinated coffee, which is not always available at B&Bs.

Lesley, the landlady, was very helpful with tips and information, recommending and booking some excellent restaurants for us.

We originally booked to stay in the Ty Gwyn Hotel but they made a mistake with the booking and orgainsed for us to move into the Tyn-Y-Fron instead....lucky us ;) We only stayed the one night but wish it was more. The rooms were perfect and had amazing views. The breakfast was lovely and the owner Leslie was very friendly. The only downside was the distance from the town, we wanted go for dinner and have a few drinks in the centre but it was raining and too far to walk in the rain so we had to drive. Other than that everything was great.

We reasently stayed in the self catering cottage attached to Tyn Y Fron B&B.
It was a refreshing change to find accomodation which was not only small dog friendly, but also of a very good standard.
The area was perfectly located for long walks in the day and relaxing in bars and restaurants in the evening.

We will most defenatly be visiting again, soon I hope.

It's rare when travelling to find a place that ticks all the right boxes - and a joy when you discover one that truly does. Tyn-Y-Fron is that place!

From the stunning setting, nestled in the wooded mountainsides of Betws-y-Coed, through the beautiful features of the house itself, down to the friendly warm and welcoming environment created by your host, Lesley, everything about Tyn-Y-Fron is, in a word, magical.

The rooms are of an incredibly high standard, tastefully decorated with all the facilities you could possibly need, and with an individuality and style that is sadly lacking in most hotels. The bed was a delight to fall into after a days walking, and the views waking up in the morning provided just the right start to a new day.

If the views are good, the breakfast is equally so - served in the most delightful dining room by an ever smiling Lesley, the food was of a very high standard, beautifully cooked and presented - and nothing seemed too much trouble.

In short, if you are headed to North Wales for a break, be sure to head to Tyn-Y-Fron.

We stayed in Tyn-Y-Fron B&B for our first wedding anniversary and wholeheartedly recommend this lovely B&B. We stayed in a lovely large well-decorated room, with amazing views - a real 'Wow' as were shown to our room. The breakfasts are absolutely gorgeous, and match the view from the Breakfast room - it is almost too tempting to stay there all day! Lesley is very knowledgeable about the area and keen to ensure you get the best from your day - her advice from where to eat (the Bistro in Betws-y-Coed is a must eat place) and local walks really made the most out of our short break. Thank you for such a lovely weekend. Stop looking for a B&B in North Wales and book this one now!
