We booked on the recommendation of a friend and were not disappointed. On arrival we met the owners Tracey and Stefan who gave us a very warm welcome. Our room was spacious and comfortable with stunning views across Betws-y-Coed, made even better with our own balcony, the perfect place to sit and watch the sunset. The breakfast was amazing and set us up perfectly for a day of walking, which was helped by our perfect location. I can't recommend this bed and breakfast highly enough and will be booking a return visit as soon as the sun come out again.

Room Tip: Ask for the balcony room - room 4 the views are amazing and it is great to watch the sunset with a glass of wine

The Maes-y-Garth is in a perfect location very close to Betws-y-Coed station. We received a very warm and friendly welcome from Tracey and Stefan. The room we stayed in was excellent, it was very clean and comfortable and had extra little special touches (biscuits each day and easter chocolate bunny as we stayed over Easter ) The breakfast is wonderful and service was with a smile. Tracey and Stefan chatted to us and offered us advice about walks in the area and local pubs and restaurants. We had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay and we would recommend this B & B.

The beautiful spring weather made us decide to go walking in North Wales. We love being outdoors and quite often spend weekends away in B&B's in the Lakes, Peaks and other places as well as using cottages for longer stays.
Although the area is certainly not unfamiliar, especially not to my husband who has done many walks in this beautiful National park we had never stayed in Betws-y-Coed before.
We found the B&B on the internet with two other strong contenders, one of which was cheaper but did not have parking available so we decided to go with Maes-y-Garth, mainly because I loved the idea of the doors leading to your own patio (room 5) and the fact that it was all recently done up. We were not disappointed by anything.
We arranged to arrive late (between 9-10 pm) and this was no problem at all, Tracey was very friendly and helpful on the phone. In fact, when we actually rang to say that we were 2 hours earlier than planned and only 15 miles away (!) it was no problem what so ever and we were greeted at the door with a friendly smile.
The room was great, clean, fresh and with coffee & tea making facilities, chocolates, biscuits, bottle of water and a brilliant hairdryer!
We did not use the patio but it was still nice to have the view and the option.
Breakfast was fantastic with enough choice and as much or as little as you like.
Tracey and Stefan were very facilitating and on hand to help with anything. The dining room is a real feature with views to die for and provided a relaxed atmosphere.
To sum it up: We had two brilliant walks, excellent accommodation, lovely meals (Bistro- recommended by Tracey!) and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our only regret is that we could only stay for 2 nights.
Stefan and Tracey are truly committed to make their business work and have renovated the property in an admirable way. I wish them all the best for the future and hope to be able to return soon.

We very recently had a lovely 2 night stay at Maes-y-Garth. The location is perfect for touring but there is also plenty to do locally if you don’t want to travel too far. The property has recently undergone extensive renovation making this a very nice modern but homely establishment. We stayed in a large room which boasts a very comfortable 6ft bed. This room has a fantastic view and in the evenings we sat out on the balcony (glass in hand) watching the sun go down over the mountain. Everything is spotlessly clean. Tracy and Stefan offer a warm welcome and are most willing to help in any way they can. There is a good breakfast selection to choose from and everything was fresh and tasty. I would have no hesitation in booking again.

Room Tip: Choose room 4 for lovely view!

The maes-y-garth is a beautifully decorated b&b which is very warm and welcoming. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet few days away. Stefan & Tracey made us feel very welcome in there b & b. Breakfast was very nice and there was more than enough to keep u going all day. The b&b is very well located to visit places. I felt very relaxed and refreshed after my couples of days away and already planning my next visit to this b&b.
