“I wish I Didn't Have to Share this Secret!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013

A little gem of a B and B. Beautifully placed stone building, overlooking the bridge and falls.

Mike and Rachael are charming and friendly hosts, nothing is too much trouble. We were welcomed with a hot drink and cake in the lounge and a bottle of chilled water was brought to our room. Good tea and coffee making facilities, with fabulous biscuits the first day. Use of the fridge in the dining room to keep milk, etc that we bought.

Breakfast was tasty, locally sourced, with plenty of choice. Everything about Bry Afon was very clean and tidy. Free Wi fi too.

It's a secret a didn't really want to share, but mustn't be selfish!!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 3 which overlooked the bridge and the falls and had twin beds.

Apart from the delicious breakfast that the owners Rachael and Mike serve up (including the tastiest homemade granola I've ever eaten), they offer a lovely B&B that is cozy, well looked after and located so that you have quiet but you're still walking distance from the pubs and restaurants and stores in the village. The house itself is located on the banks of the river at a very picturesque location and we were really pleased with our choice. The only but we struggled with a bit was the very very compact bath. It's a tight squeeze if you're fairly generously built horizontally or vertically. Otherwise the room is well equipped , there's books, maps and guidebooks aplenty in the comfy lounge downstairs and, Mike had some great sightseeing and dining suggestions and tips. Choosing this place is pretty much a no brainer.

Well what can i say that i have not said before. Stayed for two nights, wanted to stay longer but bed and breakfast was booked up. Mike and Rachael are wonderful, they make you feel so welcome, cold water to take to your room, chocolates by the bed, even a fridge in the dinning room for guests to chill wine or whatever. Mike and Rachael are always chatty and interested in what you have got up to during your visit and are always on hand to offer any help or suggestions of places to visit or eat. This visit we stayed in room 1, the smallest of the rooms but found this to be one of the cutest, relaxing rooms we have ever stayed in, enjoyed it so much we have booked for 3 nights in October.Rooms always clean, you have use of a cosy sitting room and there are blankets available if you want to enjoy the evening in the front garden. Breakfast again set us up for the day, excellent choices and you must try the homemade baked beans they are wonderful. Shampoo, handwash and shower gel provided in the rooms are lovely, so good in fact that i have ordered some for myself. The guests are really thought of in every aspect of this wonderful bed and breakfast. See you soon Mike and Rachael. Almost forgot, the views are to die for and so close to good pubs and places to eat.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent but have fell in love with room 1.

I booked the Bryn Afon B&B as a birthday surprise for my girlfriend and it got me lots of browny points!-thank you Mike and Rachael. Even the pickiest of people would not be able to find fault with the hospitality, food, cleanliness, location etc. The stay was fantastic and we loved Betsw y Coed. Everyone was lovely and food great wherever we ate. The B&B is perfect for cyclists as Mike has a shed for bikes and the cycle routes start just round the corner. We will definitely be back again.

Room Tip: we had room 5. it was an extra flight of stairs but the separate bathroom was lovely

We stayed at this lovely B&B over the August bank holiday weekend and couldn't have been happier with our choice. The B&B is located amongst lovely surroundings with the river flowing nearby. The views from the room are very scenic and the B&B is a short walk to all the local amenities in the village. Mike and Rachael are lovely hosts and very knowledgeable about the local area. I would highly recommend this lovely B&B if you're looking for a base to explore North Wales.

Just returned from 3 days of walking in a beautiful part of the world and stayed in the best guest house we've ever been to! Mike and Rachel are lovely and they are so helpful with tips and information about where to go walking etc...the rooms are spotless and it's the little touches that make it a cut above other guest houses...the breakfasts are superb (home made granola for cereal; Rachel's own baked beans, Mike's kedgeree, and a choice of roasts for your morning coffee) and on your arrival you are presented with tea or coffee and welsh cakes. Then you are given a large ice cold glass bottle of water to cool you down and take to your room...fantastic hospitality!

Celebrating both our birthdays with a climb of Snowdon we could not have asked for a better guest house from the moment we arrived with a lovely pot of tea and cake supplied by Mike it was the start of two memorable days. the room was perfect with great views of the river and the breakfast was excellent with some lovely touches of homemade items. We had a great evening meal at the local Bistro which within walking distance was an excellent choice. Thank you Rachel and Mike for giving us some excellent memories.
