We booked this hotel for a long weekend on the strength of Trip Advisor reports. We certainly weren't disappointed. The location next to the river is stunning - even more so when you're having a meal in the glass fronted dining room just above the river bank. We dined in the hotel 3 times & each time the food was excellent, as was the breakfast.
We thought the bedroom ( number 11 with a balcony overlooking the river ) was exceptionally well appointed with a huge comfy bed & lovely en suite.
No faults with the staff either, we found them friendly, courteous & helpful, which with all things combined added up to a really relaxing pleasurable experience. Some might say it's a tad expensive, but it's worth every penny. We are planning to return in the summer next year when we hope to see some sunshine!

Room Tip: Go for the rooms with a balcony - sitting out there with a glass of wine in the sun would be heaven.

I recently took my partner to Betws y Coed for a long weekend and stayed at Craig y Dderwen hotel. We were greeted with a warm welcome at reception, the room was more than spacious (a superking and worth paying for an upgrade), spotlessly clean and modern with all the facilities you would expect from a quality 4 star hotel with views that cannot be beaten. We dined in the restaurant and found the food, service and once again the views faultless, a true taste of welsh food cooked to perfection. In short my favourite place to stay, the only downside was that we had to leave.

Room Tip: Try the excellent afternoon tea

Just had a short break at this hotel - lovely superking room overlooking the river with very spacious bathroom. Very clean - very friendly - excellent food - would recommend.
We only booked b&b but ended up eating at the hotel every night. Extremely comfortable bed!

From booking in to checking out, this hotel met and exceeded expectations. Staff were helpful and friendly without being 'over the top'. We stayed in the 'Hot-Tub Suite', beautiful, spacious room, balcony overlooking the river and valley, felt totally spoilt for our anniversary weekend. Betws-y-Coed close enough to have a pleasant walk. Great Breakfast and service. Will recommend and return.

Room Tip: If you want the best, spend a little more and get the 'four poster suite' and definitely choose a river view room if you can.

This is our third visit this year and perfect weather helped to set off the stunning location of this hotel. As usual the staff, service and food were all excellent and our ground floor room was perfect for us as we both have mobility problems. Congratulations to Martin, Helen, Jill and the rest of the team for making our stay enjoyable and relaxing. Anyone wanting a quiet hotel in beautiful scenery with excellent food,, both breakfasts and dinners, and friendly helpful staff who always seem to go that extra mile for the guests need look no further. Just a couple of points - the home made Welsh bread is delicious and the hotel is in an ideal location for visiting several narrow gauge steam railways as well as walking. Keep up the good work - we'll back again next year.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room if you have mobility problems. If not river view rooms are well worth the extra cost.
