“Get away from it all”
Reviewed August 21, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We just spent a week and it was fantastic! Picture a remote place on the hillside with stunning views of the valley and surrounding Snowdonia peaks, with the sound of sheep and birds in the background - here you are. There were some lovely little Welsh goodies waiting for us, which was a very nice welcome. Our kids, age 8 and 11, and we enjoyed the scramble up Moel Siabod which starts just in front of the house. My husband brought his mountainbike and found some good trails whilst I enjoyed a quiet cuppa in the little private picnick-area with a view just outside the door. Caernarfon, Snowdon, Slate Mines, Beddgellert...you can do it all from here. The drive from the road up to the cottage is steep and in parts gravelly, but manageable. The cottage consists of one long building, divided into three separate rentals but it never felt crowded. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

“Adventure paradise.”
Reviewed July 24, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We spend a week at the cottage. It's a great place for children as old as ours. 7, 8 and 10. They found lots of places in the surrounding area to escape in fantasy worlds as only they can find them. Staying at the foot of this mountain is peacefull. We found it a good location to explore north wales. With the village of Betws Y Coed closeby were we had nice places to eat/drink/relax. Lots of information about the area in the cottage was helpfull. The only thing that was not as good as we wanted was the weather that week. When clouded the house was posted right in them. Really windy up there when down in the valley the weather was quite good. We are outsidepeople, also in the evening. We missed that greatly on this vacation. Bad weather is always a bummer. We had a fantastic time in this place and will never forget it. After our visit we are very happy about the service we received, but we would recommend this cottage to our adventure buddy's without children as playing outside till late in the evening should be a must in vacation times. I can only give a judgement on our own experience (weather influenced).
Again, our children had a great time when weather was fine! To conclude: I would love to come back some time as we did not had the chance to reach the summit to Moel Siabod. We did went to the lakes,... Glorieus adventures we found there!
Ps, the rainy days brought us some spectaculare falls (everywhere)!

“Comfortable, good location, nice touches”
Reviewed July 19, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We stayed for three nights while hiking in the area. Great location for Capel Curig, Betws Y Coed and Llanberis and north coast. The cottage was comfortable, great to have a washing machine and airer for hiking gear. Was lovely to have a fire ready to go after we came back from a long day. Nice touches of milk, butter, a loaf and Welsh cakes which were definitely enjoyed. The place has a nice deep bath, double bed (creeky but I slept ok), bunks, sofa and well equipt kitchen. We loved the views which were breathtaking and atmospheric when the clouds rolled in. We would stay again and definitely make time to hike Moel Siabod which sits fantastically behind the cottages (and you have already gained some of the height!).

“The views of this comfy cottage are one of a kind!”
Reviewed May 10, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

I've seen a fair bit of the UK now and stayed in some wonderful places but the views you get with this cottage simply can't be rivalled, they're truly amazing. The cottage itself was very comfortable, well equipped kitchen and a fireplace set up all ready to go. If you want to explore Northern Wales, this is a great location to do it from as almost everything is a 30 to 45 minute drive away and you could go in any direction and find something worth visiting (there's great walking trails literally on your doorstep). Or just sit outside next to the cottage and enjoy the scenery around you. If you're browsing the reviews here pondering if this is a good place to stay: yes, yes it is.

“Absolutely Fantastic”
Reviewed March 31, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Stunning views, overlooking the village, mountains and valleys.
Stone cottage, slate floors with underfloor heating and a log burning fire, already laid, ready to light. Cottage had everything we wanted from fresh milk, butter, tea, coffee and Welsh cakes to a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, handy torch, although there are sensor lights around the cottage for the evenings. A place to leave muddy boots.
A selection of board games and cards, lots of brochures of things to do and a menu from the local pub.
We loved the cottage and the surroundings, definitely want to stay here again.
Perfect.

“10/10. Superb for grown ups and little 'uns alike”
Reviewed February 17, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We've stayed in quite a few Tripadvisor rentals in Yorkshire, Lake District and Europe. This is easily the best we've found. The cottage is immaculate and has everything you would need - we travelled with two young children and their needs were met with a travel cot, high chair and stair gate. Good WIFI, twin door wood burner and under floor heating. The location is superb - half way up a mountain on a private track surrounded by sheep, snow capped hills and greenery. Within easy reach of everything you'd want in Snowdonia - mountains, beaches, more castles than you can shake a stick at and the gentile Victorian seaside resorts of Barmouth and Llandudno. Easy to find, hard to leave. 10/10..
