“Secluded cottage.”
Reviewed August 10, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We wanted to stay close to Betws-y-Coed, due to it's central location for all points in Snowdonia. A mere 30 minute drive will get you to just about everywhere from this location, even Anglesey.
The cottage, (Ty Llewellyn), is secluded indeed. A steep drive along a lane takes you to the property, which is situated near a farm yard on a hill side. The views are spectacular, and lovely walks can be taken without the need to get in your car.
The property itself, is first class. Perfectly clean throughout, nice and spacious, and fully equipped. You could move straight in and need for nothing..The owner has clearly been very thoughtful of her visitors. A card welcoming us, fresh milk in the fridge, with plenty of tea, coffee and cake were all provided, along with an extensive folder of local information
We had 4 adults in our group, so 2 of us had to use the bunk beds, and although the bunk room is small, the beds are full sized and very comfortable, so it wasn't a problem. We would definitely recommend this property, and may well return ourselves in the future. We had no hesitation in awarding Ty Llewellyn top marks.

“Fantastic cottage, superb location, walk from the cottage door into beautiful views”
Reviewed June 22, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

This cottage ticks every box. The owner is really helpful & replies to enquiries really quickly. You are made welcome as soon as you walk in the door; complementary goodies, milk, tea, Bara Birth loaf plus more.
Even though we didn't use the log burner (it was excellent summer weather for our week) it was made ready for us along with a welcoming card containing contact details of the owner.
The instructions on how to use things are clearly laid out and easy to understand. The big TV and Freeview were easy to use , we watched many football world cup matches.
The cottage is light and airy & very clean, the furniture is well laid out, the décor is pretty, the main bedroom is relaxing, the bed was comfortable and had mattress protector on, lovely pillows, the towels were fluffy.
All those little things you need like washing up powder & liquid, toilet paper & shampoo even, were provided.
The cottage is on the Moel Siabod foot path, you literally walk out into fantastic views with great walks from the cottage door. The views from the cottage are stunning you can sit in the lounge & watch the ever changing skyline over the mountains.
Out side the garden is enclosed to stop the sheep getting in, it is shared with two other cottages but you have plenty of space & your own table, rotary washing line if needed. its great.
We had the most wonderful week away, it was so relaxing, every day we were lucky and went on loads of long walks in the area, you are not far from the pubs & restaurants down the hill..We will go back to this cottage and would recommend this to our friends and family.
Thank you for our stay.

“Home away from home”
Reviewed March 5, 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We stayed in Ty Llewelyn for 4 nights with our 2 children (5 and 8)
This place is amazing.
The views are breath taking.
The cottage is spotless and very homey. Very well equipped. It feels furnished and decorated with love.
There were yummy welsh cakes and welsh loaf waiting for us on arrival along with fresh milk and butter! It’s was most appreciated after our long drive (From France).
There were also 2 adorable fluffy teddies on the kids beds (my Daughter REALLY love her ballerina teddy! I think she found it hard to say goodbye)
You basically feel like you’re staying with family! The owners are very helpful and welcoming.
The cottage is ideally situated for walks or if you want to visit North Wales as you are not far from Conwy, Portmeirion etc... and all the great places to see in NW.
We will most definitely go back as soon as we can!

“Georgeous cottage and location”
Reviewed February 24, 2014 for a stay in February 2014

This was our second stay at Ty Llewelyn and it was every bit as lovely as we remembered. All the cottage's facilities are top notch and it is so comfortable and cosy we wished we could stay longer. The weather was wild but it didn't stop us getting out and about knowing we had a great place to return to at the end of the day. The criticisms in a recent review are unfair - the bed is wonderfully comfortable and our ancient Renault Clio made it up the hill with only a bit of effort (the cottage is on the side of a mountain after all!) This is a top of the range holiday cottage for a very reasonable price and we would heartily recommend it, and will definitely be returning.

“3rd time in twelve months, says it all really!!!!!!!! Magical!!!”
Reviewed December 27, 2013 for a stay in December 2013

Third time here, perfect location as we love Hill walking and touring around, perfect hosts nothing is to much trouble. Perfect cottage, immaculately clean , the welcome tray with local cakes and milk etc is a great touch. A local paper is also left brilliant idea. The WIFI is excellent and free in with the very reasonable price. Never cold , heating was amazing underfloor cosy . Views outstanding and lots of hot water to soak my weary legs in after a days walking. We stayed the week before Xmas and the Xmas decorations where lovely. Anyone who doesn't rate this 5/5 has unrealistic expectations. Thank you Maz and Elwyn we are coming back again. more hills to conquer.

When we arrived at the cottage there was Welsh cake and a fruit loaf waiting for us. The cottage was real nice, very cosy and well equipped. There was also a welcome card for us. We will be back for sure. The nicest place we have stayed in so far.

“the cottage looked to have been converted with interest and care”
Reviewed September 21, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

The setting is stunning albeit a low suspension car may have difficulty in getting up to the cottages in poor weather. The cottage is a good standard. My two criticisms are that the mattress was a little too soft for me personally and the kitchen knives were not reliable for cutting and cooking.

Thank you for your review and useful feedback. I am sorry you found the mattress not to your personal liking, I will certainly keep an eye out for other comments about it and replace it if necessary. There is a knife sharpener in the top drawer in the kitchen which you could have used to sharpen the knives. We do also regularly keep them sharpened as part of our maintenance routine so I apologise if you found them to be not acceptable. The road up to the cottages is absolutely fine for any vehicle. In severe weather I think any car might have trouble getting anywhere on any road, so your criticism there may be a little unfair! Thank you once again for the review and I hope we may welcome you back in the future.
