The Railway Museum, and model shop, in Betws-y-Coed, are most easily accessed from the Station Platform, over the old footbridge. It makes most sense, then, to visit the village by using the Conwy Valley Railway line, which is supported by the local council, and trains leave from Llandudno, Deganwy, and Llandudno Junction, all of which have plenty of parking. You can either stop in Betws, or break there before travelling on to Blaenau Ffestiniog to join the world famous Ffestiniog Railway to Porthmadog. Whatever, a great railway focussed day out, our 5 year old grand-daughter loved it, we spent a few hours in Betws, visiting the railway museum, little train and tram rides, (one operated by the children themselves), and walkin along the footpath by the river towards Swallow Falls). Inexpensive, and very enjoyable.
