We stayed 3 night's in a bed & breakfast in Betws-y-coed. It is a family run business owned by Julie & Tony Giddings. It is run extremely well & nothing is to much for them to do for you. Bedroom's were of a high standard with tea & coffee facilities. Breakfast were excellent with a lot of choice. Their staff were very cheerful & happy to help. If your going to stay anywhere Church Hill House is well worth a visit."Well done Church Hill House & it's owners".

I spent 2 nights in this guest house en route to visiting friends in N Wales. Returning to my room at the end of the 2nd day I was a bit surprised to find that the bed was still unmade, bin unemptied, bathroom uncleaned - a simple oversight, I assumed ... so I made the bed and took the bin downstairs. I handed the bin to the owner's adult daughter and mentioned that the room had not been done, expecting an apology - which I would have accepted and thought little more about it. Not so. Soon mother appeared, and informed me that it was not their practice to service rooms every day and that if I'd wanted it done I should have asked, and went to to ask sarcastically if there was anything else I'd like her to do. Over many years I have stayed in innumerable hotels, guest houses and B&Bs of varying quality, but have never before stayed in one where basic bin-emptying and bed-making is not the norm .I would have found the owner's response unacceptable even in a basic budget establishment, but in a 3* guest house it beggars belief.

Unfortunately, while adequate in many respects, and certainly in a lovely location, other aspects of the guest house were also poor - notably, the breakfast. The only fruit was tinned grapefruit segments, which had to be specially asked for - no fresh fruit (how hard is it to put a couple of apples and bananas in a bowl?). Just 2 sorts of cereal in Tupperware boxes. Toast was basic sliced bread, with little plastic pots of cheap jam. All rather dismal for those of us who don't eat cooked breakfast.

Altogether disappointing and I wonder how the 3 star rating can be justified.

Room Tip: Look elsewhere.

Very clean and comfortable B&B. The en-suite twin room we had on the top floor was just what we wanted and had everything you would need including tea making facilities. It was very clean and well presented. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were excellent with lots of choice and the staff were very friendly and efficient. The views from the terrace are spectacular. Great value for your money.

An ideal and very calm and tranquil location to base yourself for exploring the Snowdonia national park. Snowdon was only 15 minutes drive away (and it is not too far from Anglesey either).
For the hill walkers, there is also a frequent bus from outside which will take you straight to the Pen-y-pas car park.

There are also plenty of restaurants to choose from for your evening meal

Room Tip: Previous visitors seem to have been kept awake by the church bells. Neither my son or I heard them a...

Good location, but as previously commented we were kept awake all night by the church bells.

We also all got bitten to death by all the midges in the room and the corridoor. Good breakfast. Room was OK, used tissue next to bed when we arrived was a bit of a let down though, as was the lack of a bath mat.
Good tea making facilities.

Room Tip: Take insect repellant and ear plugs...

An excellent location, right in the centre of the village - but if you're a light sleeper, the hourly bells of the church clock may dim the charm a fraction. The room & ensuite was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and provided an excellent breakfast. We were a party of 10, hiking in the surrounding countryside, and found this B&B suited us perfectly.
