“Very nice dog friendly hotel close to Snowdon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2014

We had a great two night stay at the Swallow Falls Hotel with our two dogs. The room was very nice and a good size for us and the dogs. We were able to take the dogs with us in to the bar where we had dinner, the fish and chips were really lovely. Everyone we met was very helpful and we were able to swap breakfast for a packed lunch to take on our hike up Snowdon as we were leaving very early, this was a real bonus although we really enjoyed breakfast the next day. Will definitely stay here again if we are ever crazy enough to hike Snowdon again but I think we could find another reason to stay and visit other parts of Snowdonia.

We enjoyed a great 2 nights staying in the hotel. We had a well presented twin room, and enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea & breakfasts as part of our package. Welcoming and helpful staff, lovely setting, and great location. Would come back here again.

My wife and I spent two nights here on the 16th and 17th of July. we were allocated room 31 which is directly opposite the Swallow water falls entrance. The room was very clean , spacious, and spotlessly clean. .

The falls are well worth a visit and are open 24 hours. entry costs £1.50 which is deposited in a slot on the side you then go through a turnstile and down to the falls .

The hotel was not very busy during our stay so the main restaurant was not open however we ate in the bar where you could purchase two meals for a tenner. I had my doubts at first however the food was great.and no cause for concern.

Staff were friendly and approachable and breakfast was very nice. I enjoyed my stay at the Swallow Falls and would recommend it to family and freinds

Upon arrival we were greeted very arrogantly as we mistakenly decided to drive up to the camping area to see what 'feel' we got for it prior to parting with our money. We were not impressed with the unkempt rocky camping area or the rather uninviting toilet facilities which were locked. On entering the reception we were told that our 13 year old is actually an adult so we decided to opt to find alternative accommodation as money seemed to be the only focus of the conversation with the receptionist... In the end we had a wonderful weekend at Riverside Camping in Caernarfon, enjoying it's immaculately clean and tidy grounds and our 13yr old was even considered a child so he did not need to feel guilty messing about in the river in an inflatable (partially paid for by the lower cost compared to Swallow falls). Swallow falls? Wouldn't go near the place... especially the toilet block.....

Thank you for you review. We are sorry that on your first impressions you did not want to stay here but hundreds of persons come back to us every year to use our campsite and other facilities. The toilet facilities are locked, but you do get a key when booking in on the campsite.

This is our third visit to the swallow falls, we always stay in the rooms behind the hotel (annex)
Yes they are a little dated, but the room is clean and spacious, the bed is very comfortable, the shower is lovely but still has its moments when it loses it's power.
The pub/restuarant is friendly, the staff are polite the service is great. The food is reasonably priced and a good choice, and you get a very good sized amount.
Overall this s a lovely friendly place to stay, it's perfect for the walkers
We will be back again

Room Tip: We enjoy staying in the annex a stone throw away from the hotel nice and peaceful

We stayed in the hotel, room 33 with a 4-poster bed! Lovely room, light and airy, very clean and looked as though it hadn't been decorated that long as carpets, furnishings etc all looked new. The bed and pillows were very comfy and it was easy to snuggle down and get a good night's sleep. This room also had a large en-suite with a full sized bath and shower over the bath. You could hear the waterfall across the road from inside our room. There was a good sized tv and a hospitality tray that was restocked each day. We had our complimentary cream tea when we arrived and after a 5 hour journey, it was most welcome and enjoyable. Breakfast was good and plentiful. We had one evening meal in the upstairs tavern which was from the 2 meals for £10 menu and it was very nice. Staff were polite and helpful. As it was a bit isolated, there was no mobile phone signal, however, you could get a wi-fi signal close to the reception area so you could make your calls through face time. A good base for exploring the amazing sites of north Wales. We would stay at this hotel again as it was a good 3 star hotel.

Room Tip: We managed to pick up wi-fi in Room 33. Not a big room but a lovely room with a cast iron fireplace...
