Just go and have lunch opposite then cross the road and wander down the valley and see the great falls

The falls are beautiful, no question, though the overall area of the attraction is small. So for us, it beautifully filled a gap in the morning before we set off for our main afternoon activity. You can spend half an hour there and it's enough, or you can take a picnic and stay longer. Railings are adequate that you don't have to worry about small children falling in!

These are very pretty falls and for a £1 they are well worth a visit. They are only a couple of miles out of Betws-y-Coed and there is free parking in the lay by at the entrance. It is worth making it down the steps to the bottom as it is very photogenic.

Beautiful multiple waterfall system. Well worth the £1.50 turnstile entrance fee. Well maintained walkways with plenty of scope for taking some spectacular photos. It's known as the foaming waterfall and the power and noise is quite impressive.

Park on the layby on the right as you are coming away from the village, rather than the pay and display car park at the Swallow Falls hotel.

Loved the multi armed signpost in Betws-y-Coed village centre with the distances to the other major waterfalls. A great tourist photo opportunity!

In the centre of Bettws y Coed, there is a multi-armed signpost giving directions and distances to all the major waterfalls in the world, Niagara, Angel, Victoria and......... Swallow Falls. Actually, it was the only sign we noticed that directed us to the falls, there did not appear to be any on the main road into town. The falls are actually 3 miles or so out of town, not quite within walking distance (not for me certainly - walking is not my forte!) but are well worth a visit. They can be viewed from areas specifically constructed for that purpose but, be warned, they are at the bottom of several steep flights of steps ( I managed them much to my surprise!). In May when we visited the river was in full spate but they may be less impressive in summer when there is less (?) rain. In truth they are pretty but not impressive and Niagara they are definitely not!. Well worth the visit however and, by the by, is there any other attraction in the U.K. where the entrance fee is only £1.00?
