Title says it all, really. The room was ok, apart from a strange short shower, I am not six feet tall and I struggled not to hit my head with the shower head! Also, the mattresses need replacement as my body ached all over after the night there.

If you stay here, eat here. Food was really good and tasty.

Service left to be desired. No welcome by the staff on arrival, and to change a light bulb it took a whole day!! Overall was ok though.

Stayed for 3 nights in this lovely coaching Inn, the staff and service were great, everyone made you feel welcome.
The food in the restaurant/bar was excellent plenty of choice and good size portions, 'it was so good we ate there every night'.
If your planning a trip to this area, dont leave without a visit to this delightful Inn you won't be disapointed!

Stayed here for one night and ate in the restaurant downstairs. What a charming little place this is, has parking facilities (free too, which is rare in this day of age!) and in perfect walking distance to the shops and walking routes. We stayed in Room 9B, a delightful room with a adjoining seperate room with a single bed, perfect if you have children or a snoring partner! It also boasts a four poster bed, lovely big balcony and jacuzzi hot tub with wild currents! May I point out, the negative reviews which criticize the rooms must be down to personal taste, TIP: do not stay here if you like minimal, bland, clinical looking rooms. Here you will get the odd creak in the floor and crack in the wood but that is what adds to the charm of this quaint little coaching inn. Was so refreshing to stay in a room with a bit of character. Couldn't fault the cleanliness of this room and beautiful white bedding which aided a perfect sleep. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant and we thouroughly enjoyed our stay. Now moving on to the restaurant, and wow, you will not be left with an empty tummy here! Luxury low ceiling feature and lots of little interesting decor, but you can also eat in the bar area too. A complimentary shot of gazpacho on arrival before we had even looked at the menu, and what a menu it was!! So much choice, and so many tempting dishes made the decisions very difficult. Both my partner and I ordered theMarinated Prawns & Crayfish St Jacques - Absolutely delicious. For mains I ordered the Slow Roasted Gelli Farm Iron Age Forest Reared Pork Belly, Minted Mushy Pea’s with Port Jus and my partner, Ty Gwyn Tower Block: Extra Mature Welsh Fillet Steak, Black Pudding, Salami, Topped with Mature Cheddar Gratin and Garlic Crouton with Pepper Sauce. Firstly the portion sizes need another mention -EPIC but it wasn't just quantity as the quality was paired to this. I couldn't even finish my pork but gave a good effort. All washed down with a lovely bottle of rioja served in crystal glasses (where do you ever get that these days!?) The head chef Martin is clearly passionate about serving good food and all of his produce is local, including his pigs next door!
I can not recommend a place higher and it is undoubtedly the best place to stay/eat in Betws-y-Coed if not the whole of North Wales. P.S don't forget the free breakfast in the morning. I can only assume it was a good as the evening meal but the bed was so comfy we slept through.
Enjoy and take a look at the pictures I took too!

Room Tip: Go for room 9B, you may pay a bit more but the jacuzzi was mega!

Stayed for 3 nights in room 9a, which has the 4 poster and an extra single bed. Room in same style as rest of hotel with genuine artifacts and furniture. Modern bathroom and shower. Small but very functional. Once we'd sussed the timer on the heater the room was nice and cosy. Breakfast fabulous just like the meals there. Staff always very friendly and helpful. Only one small criticism being the bar area where we ate was a bit cold. It was bleak outside though. Maybe put a false fire in the original oven to give that warm glow effect of a real range fire. Great base for rediscovering north Wales. Will be recommending to friends and family.

On a recommendation from our host at a local BnB we went to the Ty Gwyn for a romantic three course meal during our weekend away. We were treated to a lovely table near the bar and great service from the attentive and friendly staff. The food was beautifully presented and included delicious Welsh produce cooked beautifully. The homemade desserts are to die for! Coming from a city, it was nice to experience something unique which felt rustic and traditional, yet still luxurious. The Ty Gwyn is not trying to be anything its not. We experienced great Welsh food, cooked to perfection in one of the most beautiful towns in Wales. Loved it.

We stayed at Ty Gwyn last week for one night and we loved our time there. The room (9b) was warm and cosey and was true to the pictures we had viewed on the website. We had a four poster bed which was comfortable and the bathroom was lovely and had both a spa bath & shower. Tea & coffee facilities were available in the room. Breakfast was very much enjoyed due to the choice of menu - you would not go hungry here at breakfast time. The staff were friendly and attentative from the time we arrived until checking out time. Would stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Room 9b - just lovely
