I have just read some of the 'poor' reviews and wondered if we had stayed at the same place! Clean, good food, great breakfasts, loads of parking space, all the facilities one would expect at reasonable prices and quite frankly, whatever the staff are paid, it is not enough.

We stayed one night at this hotel on our recent tour of the UK. As members of Best Western we prebooked accommodation here as we were experiencing difficulty obtaining daily accommodation on spec as we travelled. We were allocated a superior room which was located behind the main building. The location was a bit remote but the accommodation was great. It would be a bit inconvenient during winter when it was much colder. It actually appeared to be a suite and the extra space was wonderful. The main room was well appointed and well planned. The rooms and bathroom were comfortable and warm and everything worked. The bathroom was a bit on the small side. We would stay here again. Having to go outside to get to breakfast was novel and inconvenient in rain and cold weather, but the food was good.

We stayed at the Best Western Waterloo Hotel on May 10th 2013. We found the Hotel very comfortable and the Restaurant was Top class and the food delicious. We stayed on a Package of Dinner B& B and which suited us nicely.

Close to all the transport links.
Nice sized double room with a very impressive bathroom.
Breakfast was excellent and all the staff very friendly.
The only downside was the very slow speed of the WiFi.

We stayed for two nights early may, in one of the lodge rooms. We have booked for a return visit with no hesitation.

The Lodge was fine, clean and very warm, if in need of perhaps, a little sprucing up? These rooms are more suited to families I would guess than couples.

Staff were very nice and friendly, nothing too much trouble.

The bar area is clean modern and comfortable, and the food was very good.

Breakfast, some cooked items were 'cool' when they first opened at 7am, not sure how this was done, previous morning's breakfast was ok, buffet style.

Location is superb as it the setting, prices as you would expect aren't unreasonable for this part of the world and the standard of accomodation.

We are back soon but this time in the main hotel building, so really looking forward to it.

We stayed in early May and booked a superior room which was worth the extra and very comfortable. We were allocated a ground floor lodge room (52) behind the main hotel. It was a larger room with a setee in a loung area along with flat screen TV. It had patio doors onto a grass area with table and chairs. The twin beds were also very comfortable. The bath room had a thermastatically controlled shower above the bath and had great pressure. The shower gel/soap provided was very useable.
We booked half board. The web site did not make it clear that you were allocated £25 pp against the main menu. This was not a problem and worked well provided you controlled what you ordered. The food was excellent and the choice comprehensive, a daily menu was also provided on top of the online main menu. Breakfast was a 'full English' buffet but you could order other food, if required, instead of the buffet.
The swimming pool and spa area were great.
I would recomend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in the Snowdonia Region as it is so central and comfortable with great food.

Room Tip: The lodge rooms are best

I have written several reviews in the past on the Waterloo Hotel. We took some customers there on Saturday and stayed on their dinner bed and breakfast package, which is always fantastic and didn't disappoint. We have only ever stayed inside the hotel but this time we stayed in the outside lodges and what a surprise, lovely large rooms with seating area outside your patio doors, our room (no 54) overlooked the river which was beautiful. tea/coffee as expected, safe, ironing board and iron, hairdryer, sofa, swivel telly and ample storage space. The only down side is the British weather, so be prepared to take a brolly for the short walk to the hotel reception. The rooms outside are a lot quieter, as you get no 'corridor' noise, so would highly recommend. They have also now completed the reception area which is now a cosy well decorated entrance with a very professional looking reception area, the bar and restaurant have also been renovated and are all excellent quality. Our visitors were certainly impressed. Topped off with excellent food, fantastic staff, and superb location, we will keep going back for more.

Room Tip: Rooms in outside lodges are bigger and quieter, but take a brolly just in case. Dinner Bed and Brea...
