Summer Hill Guest House
Ranked #14 of 47 Betws-y-Coed B&B and Inns
Reviewed June 29, 2012

Stayed a couple of nights recently in this excellent B&B. Location is great sitting just above the village and next to the river. The host gave us a warm welcome on arrival, and the people who served at breakfast were very friendly too.

The house itself is spotless in all areas and very nicely decorated. There's a wonderful guest sitting room which leads into the conservatory where breakfast is served. Breakfast here is excellent with a wide selection to choose from.

The rooms are exceptionally clean, have excellent ensuites, and have nice little touches like a chocolote on the bed and bottled water with the tea / coffee tray.

You can't fault this place. I have stayed in many B&Bs over the years and have come to expect a so-so experience so it's great when you can say "yes, these people know how to run a business".

And the price was at the lower end of daily rates in the area, so top marks all round.

Great location. 5 mins walk to centre of Betws. Close to main road but also tucked away from traffic. Good carpark . Lovely friendly welcome. Modern decor throughout and very clean. Room was on second floor and excellent quality with a view through the trees to the river. Good size room with nice wardrobe, dresser, two bedside units, suitcase stand and boot tray. We had a large bathroom with both bath and large shower. Beverage tray was comprehensive and the bottled water was great. Breakfast conservatory was nice with great selection and great service. We stayed 4 nights and look forward to going back.

Room Tip: Only two rooms have baths and not all rooms face the river. No rooms on ground floor.

Well located B&B with - for some rooms - views over the river. Very clean, good breakfast and very helpful, friendly hosts and some nice touches. Our 8 & 10 year old loved staying here and we were all made very welcome, from the point that we enquired about booking (helping us sort out rooms that would work for our family) to our departure. We would definitely recommend Summer Hill to others and will stay here again if/ when we return to Betws. On that note, Betws is a very good base from which to explore this part of Wales, with good facilities and an excellent restaurant, the Bistro.

Room Tip: Room 8 had great views, as long as you don't mind the stairs to get to the top floor!

Sadly we only stayed one night but wish it was longer. Great location just off main street; far enough for peaceful night's sleep, close enough to walk to great restaurant (The Bistro was really wonderful), pubs etc. Beautifully appointed room with spotlessly clean and modern bathroom. Fab fluffy towells. Very comfy bed but pillow not so great as do love feather. Really good breakfast and friendly host to welcome us. Can't wait to return.

We have just returned from an overnight in Summer Hill Guest House where we were delighted with every aspect of our stay. The rooms are immaculate with tea and coffee making facilities.
One street back from the main road meant that it was lovely and quiet but still within walking distance of bars and restaurants.
Breakfast was all you could wish for with something to suit everyone in our party of six.
Just wished we could have stayed longer.

Room Tip: Two rooms have a bath the rest showers so if you really want a bath ask when booking which rooms thi...

Summerhill is absolutely beautiful house with spotless bedrooms! We were greater by the home owner and taken to room 8 on the top floor. Our room had beautiful views over the river. It was modern, spacious and clean. Our stay was peaceful and we would definitely stay again and recommend to all our friends
