“Excellent food and service..”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2013

Stopped off for a drink whilst on a day out to Betwys. Food being brought out looked absolutely gorgeous so decided on calling off later for a bite to eat. It was extremely busy and the outside tables were all taken so thought it may be long wait, however, couldn't believe how quickly our meals arrived. Quality of all 3 meals were fantastic especially for the price, amazing value, would definitely recommend.

“Excellent Value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2013

Plenty of parking for this tourist spot at the rear of the pub . The food choice is great for all , but the fish and chips are mind blowing crispy beer battered haddock done on site , a must for all fish lovers .

“Great meal after the 3 Peaks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013

A group of 19 of us ate here on 14 July after completing the 3 Peaks Challenge, food was reasonably priced, service was good as was the atmosphere. Outside seating looked inviting, but the midges were out in force!

Try the 450g Rump Steak, you won't be dissapointed.

“Lively spot for outdoor eats & drinks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013

Visited here every day of our 5 day holiday in Betws-y-coed, for dinner or just a drink. Great friendly atmosphere with people off all ages. There are large screen TV's inside if you want to catch up with the sport - we watched the whole Wimbledon Final here. Would recommend the local 'Purple Moose' beer on tap here. If you're going to eat here, the spag bol was great, you could tell the quality of the meat, locally sourced I think. It's generally good pub food, great after a hard day's walking, and it's attractively priced with good sized portions.

“Busy, buzzing and dog friendly”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013

We ate here a couple of times during a long weekend, as we were camping nearby and the campsite owner recommended it as a good place to go with the dog.

Both nights (Thursday and Saturday) were really busy and the place has a great atmosphere. We found space to sit in the courtyard at the front and enjoyed really good, tasty food in generous portions.

Thursday's meal was sausages, chips and gravy (for him) and a Welsh rarebit burger (for me), followed by chocolate brownie ice cream sundae and a waffle with honeycomb ice cream - the latter is highly recommended if you have a sweet tooth! All the food is excellent quality, with locally sourced meat and excellent chips.

On the Saturday, we shared a portion of nachos (good, but could have done with soured cream or guacamole, really), followed by a bacon burger - we asked for cheese on it - Greek salad and more chips. No dessert this time - we were too full!

The beer is good here, too which is a bonus. Purple Moose's Snowdonia was on tap when we were there - it's very good.

Bear in mind that Saturdays are VERY busy, so if you're looking for a quiet spot, this isn't it. It's a pub, so there's people drinking and it can get quite rowdy and noisy as the night goes on.

We'll definitely visit again when we're back in the area. I'm looking forward to trying one of their curries - they look amazing!
