“Perfect in every way!! Will definitely be coming back!”
Reviewed November 23, 2011

Just returned home after a fantastic and relaxed weekend break in the Siabod cottage at Llannerch Goch. We didn't really want to go home! The accomodation is kitted out to everything you would want and more, and is clean, cosy and definitely 5*!!

We were greeted by the proprietor, Eirian, who was absolutely lovely, and so helpful and welcoming.

We will definitely be coming back soon, we've already recommended it to friends and family, and would highly recommend it to anyone to go there!!

Our family booked all 3 cottages at Llannerch Goch for a full week over half term. An initial positive impression was soured when, after the handle on the washing machine in 'The Old Stable House' broke, we were repeatedly accused, by the owner of having forced it. The impression of aging and crumbling fixtures and fittings was firmly reinforced when, with a crash, a recessed light fitting fell out of the bathroom ceiling, in the same cottage, into the bath. Luckily the bathroom was empty at the time, as this would have been a frightening and possibly dangerous experience if anyone, particularly one of our children, had been using the bath at that time.
Insult was added to injury when the owner insisted on charging an extra £ 30 for an extra guest, on 3 nights, even though the total number of guests, per night, over the full week was less than the number booked and paid for. Though the owner offered to refund this excess when we stated we were going to leave negative feedback, we'd had enough at that point and left.
Such a shame that what was clearly established as luxury accommodation is crumbling, apparently due to a penny pinching approach from the management, not to mention the offensive 'customer is always wrong' approach taken to any issues which arose.
It's also worth mentioning that the local pub has shut down - a disappointment to our group as we had looked forward to the opportunity to socialise without needing to drive to and from a venue, indeed one of the key attractions which prompted us to book.

I feel that I must response to this negative review. The customer in question did not ask to bring an extra guest on holiday which clearly states in my Terms and Conditions they signed that ‘No more than the maximum number of guests specified may occupy the cottage’. When I noticed there was an extra guest on the first night I did mention that there would be an extra charge of £10 per night which they could have refused to pay and their guest could have found a Hotel or B + B. I would have been well within my rights to ask the guest to leave but I did not as it was Half Term and it would have been very difficult for them to find accommodation.

The handle of the Washer/Dryer did break and I did mention that the Dryer should cool down before opening the door as the same Washer/Dryer is in another cottage in case it happened again.

Customer never mentioned anything regarding the light fitting which would have been dealt with immediately. I feel that ‘falling standards and service’ is very uncalled for as we obtained 10% higher than the required Grading which covers cleanliness, fixtures + fittings and service by our authorised Inspector.

I’m afraid that it’s out of my control that the local Pub closed a few months ago. I immediately altered my Web Site to clarify this. New owners have now bought the Pub which is undergoing new refurbishment.

Please see other positive reviews from guests many returning yearly.

Had a fantastic week holiday at Tryfan cottage, a tranquil & beautiful location only 5 mins to Betws-y-Coed by car. Very modern (ensuites in both rooms, spacious kitchen and relaxing lounge room), clean and cosy cottage ideal for those wanting seclusion with superb uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside, Moel Siabod, Tryfan, and other mountains of the Ogwen valley. We highly recommend staying here for a beautiful, high quality and relaxing North Wales self catering holiday experience.

We have just reutrned from a one weeks stay in Siabod Cottage - we didn't really want to go home!
The cottage was really lovely, well thought out and spotlessly clean.
The veiw from the patio and upstairs bedroom window were beautiful.
The cottage is ideally situated for both countryside and seaside expeditions but, it is also a wonderful place to sit and relax.
We would highly recommend a visit to Cadwaladers in Betws y Coed the ice cream, coffe and staff are excellent!!!

Stayed here for 1 week with my wife and toddler son on a last minute decision to come to Snowdonia. We rented Tryfan cottage. It was large and spacious, clean and very modern. With fantastic views from the patio out over the rolling Welsh countryside, with nature and farm animals all around, our son really loved the place. This was a great base to explore Snowdonia, most major destinations are within 30 to 60 minutes drive, and the village of Capel Garmon itself is a picturesque gem. A short walk to the local village pub (welcoming staff) for a beer on the evening, and lots of accessible countryside walks around the area straight out from the cottage itself. Location is very rural, if that is what you are looking for you wont be disappointed. Great place, highly recommend.

After travelling to Cyprus for the past five years, we decided to have a different holiday this year and we came to the conclusion that we would spend two weeks in Snowdonia. On browsing through 'Farm Stays' we agreed that Tryfan was the ideal cottage and we were not disappointed. The cottage was modern, light and airy and definatly 5*. The location was what the doctor ordered, away from the maddening crowd situated in the mountain but central for all the places of interest. We were greeted by the owner Eirion who was very helpful and kind. We can highly recomend this cottage and will be returning ourselves in the not too distant future.
