We booked a two night stay at the very last minute due to unsettled spell of weather, so glad we chose to stay here. Very comfortable bedroom with impressive en-suite bathroom.Great views and a peaceful location ensure a good nights sleep.
We will stay here when we next visit this area. Alan.

It's difficult to add more to the previous reviews other than to say that this place is about as perfect as you could hope to find. So much thought appears to have been put into the details, that, for the first time when I have stayed anywhere on a holiday or a break, I just can't imagine any way that Ty Blaidd could be improved upon.

Antonia is remarkably helpful but never intrusive in any way at all. The food is excellent and the bedrooms are superb. The place is absolutely spotlessly clean and everything you could possible hope for was there.

The location is ideal as it offers you easy access to Betws Y Coed, the main local town (just a few minutes drive away) but without the hustle and bustle you can sometimes experience from the town.

It's not often that a place is recommended as unanimously as this one has been on the reviews but there is good reason that it has been. I can't imagine that anyone will ever give anything other than 5 stars to this wonderful B&B.

Having read the reports we opted for a stay at Ty Blaidd with friends last week and we were certainly not disappointed - we had a fabulous stay! The location was perfect for us as we wanted to be close to Betws-y-coed with all its lovely shops and eateries etc but didn't want to be staying right in the middle of the bustle. We got to go home to the most peaceful and relaxing of places just a few miles down the road. One evening after a glorious spring day we sat out in the garden with a glass of wine and admired the sun setting over the hills - the views from this place are tremendous and the sound of the stream in the garden added to the tranquility - a perfect evening drink with friends.

Between us we booked out both rooms and were pleasantly suprised to discover that you are in a private area of the house. Both rooms share a staircase and hall and entrance of their own and the hostess, Antonia invited us to make ourselves at home and spread out in the lounge and dining room too and it was great to leave maps out over night on the table and shoes etc in the hall without worrying about who else was about. It was a bit like being in a place of our own but without having to cook our own breakfast!

About breakfast - it was impressive. The food is very fresh and of top quality - you can tell the fruit salad is fresh and there are loads of choices including things like smoked salmon and omlettes in addition to the traditional full cooked breakfast. The tables had proper fabric cloths and napkins and very clean utensils, everything was presented really nicely. And fresh flowers on the table too. There are great views from the dining room too so we really did look forward to this each morning.

The rooms continue on the theme of top notch. Although one room is bigger than the other they both had family bathroom sized ensuites with a bath and a shower over the bath. This was so nice because so many places have these tiny cubby hole ensuites with just a shower cubicle and it was great to spread out and have space to swing a cat. The beds are massive - in our room anyway and the linen and decor all very tasteful - neutral but not too boring. Thought had even been put into the tea and coffee facilities, very clean, new looking and modern. In fact everything looked pretty new and it was very clean which I consider to be of utmost importance.

The hostess Antonia was very kind and welcoming. She showed us around when we arrived and asked if we wanted any fresh milk and we were asked to choose our breakfast choices the night before. She asked us to remove our shoes when going upstairs but I didn't mind as the carpet was so obviously new and clean (and cream coloured!) She was friendly without being intrusive and there if you needed her. She let us use the maps and guides away from the B&B and also warmed up a pasty for me - nothing was too much or a problem for her which made us feel very welcome.

All in all we were very impressed and very much enjoyed our stay in such a lovely establishment, and I can honestly say that to date, I think its the best B and B I have ever stayed in.

How nice it was to come back! Ty Blaidd is just as beautiful as we had remembered. This was my third visit to Antonia's B&B and it gets better every time. The standard of this B&B is just so hard to beat. This visit was with friends, and we all had a great time. Location is central, for so many beautiful places in North Wales. Sightseeing, walking, just taking time out. Whatever you need is here. Antonia makes you so welcome, and Ty Blaidd is quiet luxury at the end of a long day. Can't wait for the next visit.

My boyfriend and I booked two nights in Ty Blaid in the slightly larger room 1. The B+B is situated in a little town called Penmachno, slightly off the beaten track from Betws - y - Coed. We arrived at dusk on the Friday and were met with a warm welcome from Antonia who showed us around the dining room, sitting room and up to our bedroom. We were given a key to the guest entrance which is separate to the main house so coming and going was without disturbing the main house. As we were the only guests, it was like having your own apartment which was great. The decor is modern but homely and immaculately clean. We were asked to remove shoes as the surrounding environment is quite muddy (Snowdonia national park!!) but were provided with slippers which was a lovely touch. There were books, games and guides available in the sitting room for use whilst staying there and beverage facilities avaliable 24/7.
The bedroom was wonderful. The views were spectacular and the finishing touches were subtle yet very apparent and contributed to a high class stay. The bed was huge, coffee facilities varied, bathroom very modern with a fabulous shower, complimentary toiletries and lovely bathrobes and towels. There was also a flat screen tv with Sky which helped my boyfriend feed his football addiction!
The breakfast needs a special mention. Antonia asked us to peruse the menu the night before and write down our choices with a time for the next morning. There were eight choices in all and of the two we sampled, they were fantastic. Alongside the fresh fruit salad, toast, cereal, preserves, honey, yoghurt, tea and orange juice (with juicy bits!) we were set up for the day to go walking and sight seeing.
The surrounding village is very quiet with little happening, if you were to stay here, any nightlife (pubs and eateries) would involve a taxi or drive into Betws - y - Coed which is four miles. We found our environment so lovely that after a busy day, we grabbed a bite to eat and then came back to the B+B and had a glass of wine before bed. The surrounding area has lots of scenic walks and activities to keep you occupied.

All in all we had a lovely weekend. It was peaceful and relaxing and we would recommend to anyone who is looking to get away to peaceful surroundings with a bit of luxury.Look out for the napkin rings - they are fantastic!!!
