When we came to North Wales from Chester, we were not sure how far into Wales we could or should get for a two or three day stay. We had stayed near St Asaph and so knew that our first stop near Snowdonia should be Betsw-y-Coed, to figure out what was reasonable. The wonderful staff at the Tourist Info center laid out some possibilities for us, making it clear that we should plan to stay in Betsw-y-Coed. They recommended and booked us into Glenwood Guest House. What a happy accident!

Marie greeted us when we went to check in. She was welcoming and friendly, full of good information about the surrounding area. She gave us a choice of rooms, all fresh, super clean and inviting. The one we chose, overlooking the mountain, had tons of storage (great if you wanted to stay a few days) and a very comfortable bed. Shower and wifi both excellent.

Breakfast in the light filled dining room was large and delicious. We met a family from the states and had some fun catching up on home. So even though the tables for rooms are separate, the setup invites community.

We felt fortunate to have landed in Marie's place and highly recommend it.

We just returned from a truly perfect 4 night stay at Glenwood Guest House, in the lovely Snowdonia village of Betws-y-Coed. Our family of four was given the spacious and immaculately clean family room on the ground floor. With two bedrooms (1: double 2: 3 singles) and a large bathroom we had plenty of space to spread out. Two tv's with DVD players meant that we could put a film on for the kids at night and still have some quiet time ourselves. There is also a conservatory off of the breakfast room with movies, books, games, t.v., sofas to relax in. It overlooks a rear garden where the children could run off early morning or evening energy without disturbing anyone --another bonus! The owners, Marie and Said, were incredibly kind and perfect hosts... Went above and beyond the call of duty several times! They helped us orchestrate a pizza party and birthday cake one evening in the conservatory to celebrate our son's 6th birthday. They even surprised us by decorating the breakfast room and had a gift and card awaiting him at breakfast! Incredibly kind and our son was so excited.

As far as location... This quiet B&B offers close walking distance into Betws without the noise and foot traffic you would get if you were directly in town centre. You can walk right out the door to go on several local walks. The river is directly across the road from the B&B and the scenery is gorgeous. Betws offers a perfect location within Snowdonia for families because there is so MUCH to do without having to spend alot of time driving in the car. Tree Top Adventure was just 5 minutes away, horseback riding, Greenwood Forest Park (30 min). Betwys has a huge selection of shops, restaurants, and a big playing field in the centre. A great family holiday destination.

Thank you so much Said and Marie (and Adam and Daniel too!). We had a wonderful holiday and hope to visit again soon.

We have stayed here twice with our children aged 5 & 7 and both times have loved it. Our family room is perfect and the bathroom is huge. Everything is spotless and the breakfast's are Delicious. Marie and siad are excellent hosts and nothing is to much trouble, they have excellent local knowledge. The garden is lovely and there is plenty of parking too.
The guest house is a 5 minute walk from the village centre and has a lovely play area/park close by. The location is great and there are plenty of things to do and see from a short drive to visit from Anglesey or any of the other North Wales attractions. We will definitely return a third time!

We were lucky enough to have another lovely stay at the Glenwood this weekend, everything to it's usual standard, immaculate rooms, comfortable beds & a great breakfast. Thanks for the advice on the walks, & of course, the jump leads when the car wouldn't start! We will definitely be back again, wouldn't stay anywhere else in Snowdonia, pubs & shops a short walk from the guesthouse, & beautiful views from the rooms. Thanks Marie & Said, will hopefully see you again soon!
