The restaurant was completely empty (we dined at around 8 pm, midweek in November), which can be a good or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. We quite enjoyed it.

We liked the Welsh-language music (less intrusive than other choices, and added to the feel of something local and more traditional).

The free (local Welsh speciality) mini appetisers and after-desserts were thoughtful and looked tempting, although the majority in my opinion didn't actually taste of much!

Luckily, the actual main courses and the desserts we chose were in fact pretty tasty. Our main complaint was that the chips/wedges weren't cooked for long enough. The duck dish we both had was nice, though it didn't match up to the best duck I've tasted. The sticky toffee pudding and brownie with ice cream were both very nice, and reasonably priced. Service was good and quite quick.

For the price, it was quite good value, although I think the food could have been better.

A Welsh themed Bistro. We visited on Sat 16th Dec. We were welcomed by polite and efficient staff. We chose a starter and main course each. Both were really well cooked and tasty - both meat and vegetarian choices, With 3 drinks it came to £42 which I thought was reasonable for the quality of food. I've no hesitation to recommend it and would definately visit again. You'll need to book on Saturday nights though as it was very busy.

We have been here a couple of times and always enjoyed the food, however the service can be slow and staff forgetful!

Having enjoyed eating here in the past we visited again on Saturday for lunch. Unfortunately we had a disappointing experience and it is unlikely that we will go back. One of the 3 meals we ordered was just about OK (omlette), although it was served on a stone cold plate with a very wet side salad so the omlette was cold and wet underneath. The second meal was very poor (Anglesey eggs) which comprised a single half-cooked egg sitting on some cold leek and potato mash. We asked the kitchen if they could finish cooking it and it came back after a couple of minutes having presumably been under a grill, still cold. It didn't get eaten. The kids' meal was described on the menu to be sausage, beans, gravy and chips but came without any beans or gravy! The waitress's response was to ask if we had asked for beans and gravy when we ordered- and there was me thinking that we could expect to be served something matching the description on the menu without specifying every element of the dish!! When we came to pay, I think the waitress assumed we would be paying in full until we said something. Possibly an off day but if the two serving staff had spent less time gossiping in the kitchen with the two ktichen staff the outcome might have been different.
