“Spacious, quiet cottage with great access”
Reviewed July 12, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

This cottage more than adequately accommodates two, with great facilities, and is located near enough to the Copper mine without being bothered by visitors. It has great access to many little walks (Craflwyn, Sygun trails) and within easy and scenic drives to towns and bigger mountains. Even when the weather is not brilliant it is worth staying for the tranquillity and the views on mornings (or any time of day really!).

Would definitely stay again, the price was great for the space and utilities available. Got to explore a lot, despite the weather, which made the staycation all the more relaxing.

“Perfect”

Gorgeous cottage with everything we needed and in such a fantastic, beautiful location. The cottage was well furnished and spotlessly clean, would love to visit again someday.

On arrival we were blown away by the location and appearance of this renovated cottage - the photos do not do the property justice. The large spacious cottage was fantastic value for money with almost everything you need for a short break (including a washing machine and large freezer) and with good quality furnishings throughout.
The location is stunning with views of the surrounding mountains and a picnic table in the garden to enjoy the views. The cottage is relatively remote about 1 mile from Beddgelert - 2 minutes by road and 20 minutes on foot via the river path (which beware is in some places rocky underfoot). Beddgelert is a lovely little village with plenty of pubs for food (we enjoyed the food at Hebog) and a little shop.
The cottage is in a great location to explore the peaks of Snowdonia and surrounding coastline. It's best to get to most car parks early for walks as it can get busy.
We would have given the property 5 stars however there were a few little things - I agree with one other reviewer that the property didn't feel like it had had a proper clean after the previous visitors left, and the cottage felt a little damp possibly due to the age of the property.
However this did not distract from the overall charm of this beautifully renovated property and we had a fantastic holiday.

“Beautiful, tranquil, Snowdonian bliss”
Reviewed August 17, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Sygun Cottage is one of those properties that as you approach you say 'wow'. Having missed the gravel track right next to the Sygun Mine entrance the first time, when we finally found it (more our fault in fairness) and drove up to the cottage we were bowled over. It's a beautifully renovated old miners' row of I'm guessing three cottages made into one, and set by itself up a short private gravel track. Lovely modern interior with spacious, well equipped kitchen, huge lounge and that all important log burner, gorgeous bathroom with walk in shower, and a small, but perfectly adequate bedroom with double bed. There is a small utility room, with washer, freezer etc in a separate small annex. The owners of the cottage also own the mine, and couldn't have been more friendly. (I recommend the mine tour too).
The village of Bedgellert is a 20 minute walk away alongside the river. This is a picturesque little village, but with good pubs and restaurants, particularly the Hebog, which I recommend but it's probably wise to book for an evening meal, and the Prince LLewelyn Hotel, which is good value.
Fabulous property, highly recommended.

“break away”
Reviewed June 23, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

A delightful little cottage in an idyllic part of snowdonia national park. It has the most amazing panoramic views. Just a mile from beddgelert with everything you look for in a holiday. The cottage is clean, cosy and comfortable. The owners are always available if needed, but give you the privacy you want too.very pretty in all seasons.just the break you need.

“Great cottage, lovely location”
Reviewed May 31, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

If I could have, I'd have given this 4.5 stars. This is a lovely, spacious cottage for 2 people. The location is great - an easy walk to Beddgelert for pubs/shops/tea/tourist info and still able to start beautiful and varied walks from the cottage without having to drive. This includes ascents to Snowdon. The cottage is clean, modern and tastefully decorated inside. Linens and towels are of high quality. Lovely woodburner, a large flat-screen TV with DVD and Xbox. The shower is a power-shower with lovely pressure. A nice hot shower after a good walk was great. Kitchen utensils/pots/pans/crockery/cutlery are adequate. The views out the front are lovely. A couple of things to keep in mind - if you want to listen to music, then you will need to bring a player. The TV does have radio stations but the sound quality is low. There is also no hand soap at the sinks - this caught us out. The bed is cosy. Overall this is a very good cottage for a couple to use as a base for walking and exploring the area.

“great potential”
Reviewed May 16, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

idyllic cottage ,fantastic views . It was little bit confusing who we should pay ,so ended up paying at copper mine down the road ,getting a reciept !Strange . Disappointed no tea ,coffee or sugar in the place , in every cottage i have stayed in ,these have been available !!Lovely vibe in the place though and all fixtures and fitting lovely , gorgeous comfy dorma bedding , shame no full length mirror for the ladies ! Maybe the owners should be aware that the cleaner is not the best , cobwebs everywhere .
On a lighter note 2 mins to the copper mine and lakeside walk , awesome , mile to lovely little village ,great shops and eateries ,access to longer and higher walks ,lovely base .
