The house could do with a bit of TLC but was comfy and clean and made an excellent base for the week. The owner had left some nice touches such as milk, bread, wine and flowers. (Think you'd struggle to comfortably accommodate more than 8 at the absolute maximum though!). The location is wonderful - peaceful and perfect for Snowden. It's nice walk into the nearby village of Beddgelert and not far to Caernarfon or the coast.
Aran Cottage is in such a beautiful location, with amazing views.I particularly enjoyed the rocking chair and stool in the main bedroom, and spent a lot of time sitting there looking out at the view of the river, the mountain, and the cows. It was so incredibly peaceful and relaxing.
The cottage is very well equipped, even down to cling film for your sandwiches, and it was like walking into a home rather than a holiday let. On arrival we were welcomed by a cosy, warm cottage, with milk in the fridge and flowers on the table, which was a lovely touch.
It's location is perfect. You can walk to Caffi Gwynant for an amazing breakfast; you are on a bus route; there are gentle walks around the lake, or take the Watkins Path to the summit of Snowdon.
We booked out the cottages for our Daughter's wedding. We had the larger one (Aran) with other family members occupying the other cottages. Aran was perfect for my daughter and her bridesmaids; all 6 of them! Offering sufficient space for hairdresser in one sitting room and make up in the lounge/kitchen. The kitchen was very well equipped with a huge fridge/freezer, more than enough crockery, cutlery etc. The cottages were ideally situated between the church in Beddgelert and the reception at Lyn Gwynant Barns. On the doorstep are some lovely walks, the start of the Watkin path a short stroll away and a lovely walk; make it as short as you like! Across the road a short walk around a lake. Parking was plentiful and the wifi welcome as the area has no mobile signal. I would recommend these cottages.
We rented this classic Welsh cottage in order to go to a family wedding at Nant Gwynant and stay on for a holiday afterwards - the cottage sleeps ten and we also had two toddlers. The accommodation is generous and comfortable and there's a big fridge freezer, and a large table to sit round for meals. Two lounge / sitting areas make it easy to be sociable or quiet. The bathroom layout is interesting - there is only one shower which is a lockable cubicle in the larger bathroom. Perhaps a lockable toilet might have been better! However, the cottage is incredibly good value and these slight eccentricities are part of the fun of staying there. It's perfectly situated for proximity to Snowdon, Beddgelert, Borth y gest, Portmeirion, etc. We did loads of walking, canoeing, climbing, and visited the beautiful gardens at Brondanw. We'd definitely stay here again.
All 9 of us had a lovely week. Love that the table could seat us all for family meal times. Clare and her staff are friendly and welcoming.
We will be returning next year.
stayed at arun cottage for the 2nd time both times was so amazing :-) a lovely clean cottage with loads off room all 10 of us had plenty of space and loving the 2 toilets
snowdon is a beautiful place
Claire and Alwen was great anything we need they are happy to help and the wine went down lovely booking again for next year
We had a very enjoyable stay as two families sharing. The cottage is very well placed for climbing Snowdon and very close to the Watkins Path. Great value for the time of year and offers enough comfort and space for a group of 8.
