“Well equipped cottage with perfect location for enjoying Snowdon”
Reviewed February 20, 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Just returned from a family short break.

The good bits: The cottage has everything you need to cook for a large group and is very well equipped with white goods (dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier - ideal for dealing with wet kit!). Beds were very comfortable with lovely feather duvets and crisp, clean bedding and towels. Nice touch with the chocs, flowers and wine on arrival. Dog friendly, yet no trace of doggie smell. Set in an absolutely stunning location with glorious views all round and literally a few minutes walk from the start of the Watkin Path. Cottage is very spacious with plenty of room for 10 people to spread out. There is ample parking and good wifi coverage throughout.

The not quite as good bits: Could have done with a second shower room for a property that sleeps so many people - a bit of queuing when you get home wet and cold! Decor and finish-wise, it's a little rough around the edges and a bit bashed about in places, but clean all the same. There are plug-in radiators upstairs, but it did still feel a little nippy.

I've stayed in posher cottages, but I've also paid a lot more for the privilege, so in terms of value for money, Arran Cottage is definitely a winner. All in all, we had a great holiday and I would definitely go back.

“Excellent accommodation, quietly situated and habdy for the hills”
Reviewed December 9, 2014 for a stay in December 2014

Our mountaineering club took two cottages here and enjoyed an excellent weekend on the hill. The cottages were well presented and the log fire was need to supplement the convector heaters. - on a very chilly and icy weekend. Handy for the local pubs in Beddgelert and very close to the Watkin Path up Snowdon.

“Great Cottage for mountain lovers”
Reviewed October 4, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Aran cottage is in a great location for climbing the mountains of Snowdonia and provides lovely spaces inside for large groups to socialize and eat together, as well as plenty of sleeping space. The kitchen is very well equipped and the large fridge , washing machine and drier are great assets to people with families.Care has to be taken with very little children as the main road is close by, but ours were happy to play inside as there is so much space. We supervised them closely in the garden The owner ,Claire, is extremely helpful and accommodating and we all had a very happy stay.Thank you Claire for being so thoughtful.
You may well be seeing us again!

“Fabulous cottage with everything you need and in a great location”
Reviewed September 25, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We would highly recommend a stay at Arun Cottage. Upon arrival we were greeted with wine, chocolcates and fresh flowers which was really lovely. The cottage is perfect for a large family / group and has everything you need including a fully equiped kitchen. The cottage is situated in a perfect location and is only a short drive away from Mount Snowdon iteself. Loved it!

“Wonderful wedding weekend base”
Reviewed September 11, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We found Aran Cottage comfortable and very well equipped. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and so was the bottle of wine and supplies in the kitchen! It was an excellent place to stay while attending a wedding nearby. With ten adults and a dog it felt slightly cramped, mainly because the sofa bed is in the main kitchen/dining/living room. It would have been much more convenient if it had been in the sitting room. Parking was difficult because the cottage is right on the main road, and the dustbins take up the space in front of the house. It would be better if they could be moved into the garden or towards the camping pod area.

“What an exceptional place to stay”
Reviewed August 19, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Stayed here last week, when we arrived Claire was very friendly and welcoming. On entering our home for the week went and explored ...... There are four lovely bedrooms which are spacious and clean, two lovely spacious living areas, a large kitchen with added bonus of a dishwasher ! ! Bread, sweets and wine were left for us on the kitchen table and milk in the fridge. A wonderful place to have a base to explore Snowdonia and the surrounding area, can't wait to return as we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you Claire xx

“Wonderful cottage”
Reviewed July 31, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This cottage is excellent. We were a group of 6 celebrating a 60th birthday, and it was very spacious for us. Great for 8, 10 would be cosy, but fine if you have a large group for a weekend.
2 cosy living areas, both with wood burning stoves. I would love to go back during the winter to make use of them.
The kitchen is well equipped and is great if you want to cook for yourselves.
All beds very comfortable, with cosy feather duvets.
There is currently only one shower and bath, both located in one very large bathroom (from the cottage's previous life as a hostel) There are two toilets. This may be limiting for large groups.
The cottage is ideally located for Beddgelert and the Watkin path.
