“Relaxed own pace tour”

To be able to go at our own pace without being guided in a group was a pleasant experience. Although safe (if you look out for the low roof in places) it was not overly sanitised, so whilst it wasn't totally how it would have been, you get a much better feel than in some similar attractions. We knew the temperature would be a lot lower inside, so brought a coat, but we weren't warned about the lower temperature when we bought our ticket. Maybe the chap in the shop knew we had coats in our non-see-through bag?! Anyway, it was a minor issue. It would be a shame to rush through because you felt cold. This is probably stating the obvious, but it is damp underground, both underfoot and drips from above your head.
I did feel it was a little pricey, but it seems to be the way costs of attractions are going in N Wales.
Only limited access for wheelchair users, which is a shame.

We went here on a rainy day on our Wales holiday. And it really was brilliant. You start off in the shop which was manned by a lovely gentleman. Here you pick up a hard hat and off you go by yourself down the mine. Don't worry, you can't get lost! The route is clearly marked, you can take your time examining each part of the mine, and there are regular stops where you can press a button for a talk on parts of the mine along with music and scenes from the past. It really is brilliant!

Would definitely recommend and will definitely go back.

Self guided tour, quite interesting but didn't feel need to do it more than once. Cafe (and gift shop) are in a good location for stopping at on local walks.

£18.90 for two adults, This included £1.00 for using a debit card (come off it)Too expensive for a truly cheap attraction. Five small caverns, with awful looking mannequin's, connected by low tunnels. Lots of steep steps but still took less than an hour! Caernarfon Castle at half the cost is much better value.

We thought this would be a good attraction for a rainy day and reading the literature it sounded good. What a disappointment for something that has won the Prince of Wales award for tourism. It was very expensvie considering it took us half an hour maximum to walk through. There is no mention in any of the literature about the 186 steps you have to climb, not very good for a family with young children or anybody with a disability. It was not appreciated by us either, who although fit and able had spent the previous day climbing Snowdon. The pictures of the stalactite and stalamite formations are also a little deceptive in the brochure as there is only a small display in the caverns. I have seen far better displays elsewhere.
