“Great host along with excellent food and location”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

Brian was a great host. He made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. He was eager to meet or assist with any and all of our needs during our stay. He has numerous maps and lots of local knowledge and experience to be able to provide advice on almost anything within Wales. His breakfast were the best. The location in Snowdonia is excellent for seeing all the high interest locations and taking in all the key activities.

The host Brian is very welcoming and goes out of his way to help guests have an enjoyable time, with maps, guide books and advice if requested. His breakfast is a well presented and cooked "full English" which does require some walking off. The only slight compromise is the rooms are a little small but that is a constraint of the property and its location. In terms of location it could not be better placed in the centre of the village with off street parking, plenty of places to eat in the evenings and close to public transport.

We stayed two nights in this B&B. It is right in the center of town so you can easily walk everywhere. You are also across from the beautiful river and can walk along it. Brian was very helpful loaning maps to us and helping us know where to walk in the amount of time we had one day. He definitely wants everyone to make the most of their stay. In fact, my hubbie asked for breakfast potatoes, not remembering they were NOT an option, but he said he would cook some up for him anyway. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. Because it is in a historic building and has been converted to a B&B, the bathroom was fairly tiny. If this is important to you, mention it as I would think some of the other rooms would have a larger bath.

We spent three nights at this relaxing B&B with my cousin from Australia, her first experience of this type of accommodation.Brian was an excellent host. I wa researching my family from Beddgelert and he gave me a number of pointers which were very helpful.
The rooms were well equipped and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, nothing was too much trouble.
Do take time to visit Caffi Gwynant at Nant Gwynant,a few miles away, the food is all home cooked and the specials are great and very reasonably priced

Room Tip: You can watch all the wild life from the rooms at the back

We stayed one night and were well looked after by the owner. The room was large with a decent en suite shower. Breakfast was good too. The village is beautiful and the local cafe Lynn's has a nice terrace by the river.

Well I ate my breakfast here and got to know Brian. It is a lovely accomodation and very nicely kitted out., Brian is an exceptionally charming man who you warm to very quickly. More than that he cooks the most scrummy breakfast in an atmosphere that just makes you want to relax and enjoy yourself. Brian also went out of his way to inform me of local weather issues, gave me a map for a walk and ensured all my needs were catered for, that when actually I was a guest next door. Says something about the "spirit" of the man! Lovely Bloke Brian.

We stayed at Plas Gwyn for two nights in October, 2011. This very pleasant and comfortable B&B is housed in a stone building right next to a gurgling brook--wonderful sound for sleeping. The Plas Gwyn's affable host, Brian Wheatley, worked with us when we 2 couples arrived in town on a Friday afternoon with no reservations. My husband and I stayed in the front room on the 2nd or 3rd floor. The room was very clean and spacious, with a good bed, plenty of natural light, adaquate electricity, plenty of hot water. Plas Gwyn is located very centrally. I noticed it is pictured on several postcards of the town, possibly because it is in a pretty location near a stone bridge. The town is very quiet at night so we slept with the window open to enjoy that gurgling brook. Brian makes his own meusli; it is delcious. Breakfast is served in a cheerful breakfast room. A full Welsh breakfast is included in the price, as well as assorted fruit, juice, yogert and the meusli. There is a living room for the guests' use, and a drying room in which we dried my husband's sweater. And then accidentally left it there when we departed. Our host Brian had it in the mail in no time. Beddgeler tworked well as a hub to explore the surrounding area, especially Carnearfon and its castle. We took the Welsh Highland Railway from Beddgelert to Carnearfon and it was such fun. In the fields along the way we saw sheep with long tails; a first for us.
