“Bit disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

Stayed here over Easter. Lounge area is nice with nice fire and decor. Nice food but the place seems rather disorganised. They had one waitress serving the whole hotel at breakfast who seemed surprised that everyone had come down at the same time even though breakfast was only served between 8am and 9am. I asked why the heating wasn't working on our floor. Turns out the boilers kept turning off so our room was freezing most of the time. The wifi got turned off at night too for some reason. All the staff seemed very stressed and didn't seem to have a system for anything which meant everything took longer than necessary. We had two bikes with us and they were kind to let us keep them in their lockable store at the back which was great. Great location and lovely village. Just a shame that the place seems rather disorganised and the staff don't seem to be managed very well. One of the reviews comments that the guests seem an inconvenience, which is how I'd describe it too. We were debating whether to make a fuss about the heating and refuse to pay for one of our nights but they did try to help with everything. Wouldn't return though unfortunately.

Room Tip: Heating was touch and go on the top floor for some reason.

we are here for easter 2013, the weather is cold outside and the heating system is dodgy and we complained, we have an electric fire now in our room to warm it up so be wary of coming here in the winter. otherwise its seems ok, i will put another review on soon.

Room Tip: ask for a heater if its cold outside

Stayed there last night 24/03/13 with my wife for our 1st wedding anniversary. Initial impressions were excellent. Lovely roaring log fire combined with very friendly and helpful staff made for a good start. Decor downstairs is excellent. You can see that a sizable amount of money has been spent refurbishing it. Everywhere is also spotless. Food was delicious and plentiful and the service very swift. The only surprise was the contrast and decorative standard of the rooms compared to the immaculate downstairs. They were somewhat tired and dated though having said that the rooms were very clean and comfortable. A notice in the room mentioned the fact that upstairs is awaiting renovations in the near future. Under no circumstances is this any criticism but mearly an observation. I would highly recommend the Sarecens Head to anyone staying in Beddgelert and my wife and I would not hesitate to return again.

Steve & Emma.

This is an extremely unpleasant review and in no way should be taken seriously, the writer should also learn their English. This is a great hotel!!! As I have previously mentioned (in my first review) warm, welcoming, extremely cosy, friendly and good value for money!!

We booked in some time ago, and the hotel was very accommodating in arranging a stay for 12 people, even though it was just for one night. Rooms are perfectly clean and the bar area is superb, with a lovely open fire and very nice pub food. So far I'm thinking 4 out of 5, but the staff were all so helpful, happy faced, and accommodating, even agreeing to do an early breakfast for us on a Sunday morning.
Thanks to Min and the team
Adrian

The Inn has been renovated to a good standard.
The food here is good quality and portions are sizeable. The staff appear friendly and service is good.
This is the best Inn/hotel in the Beddgelert area and I would eat/stay here without considering the others.
Parking is on the roadside but this isn't a problem and the road is quite after 7pm ish. The setting is so typical Snowdonia and the tranquil sounds of the river running across the front of the hotel are wonderfull.
