“Fabulous Park and Coastline”

Lovely location including an unusual and interesting gallery of art, large pond with ducks, cafe, information centre and of course walks into the countryside and along the coast. Very nicely kept area with amazing views and many points of interest.

“What a find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013

We didn't even know this place existed. Please tourist information board - make up some leaflets and get them distributed.

This is a lovely country park. Delightful for all walks of life. We fell upon it quite by accident after trying to find our way to the breakwater - which is also well worth a visit.

It definitely should be advertised and it's lovely place for everyone.

Good parking and a nice cafe. A good place to take young kids as easy access to the wilds of Holy Island.

“A carefully restored country park”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

The local authority are to be commended for developing what was a site of derelict industrial buildings surrounded by dense gorse, at the end of an unmade road, into a delightful recreation resource without spoiling the wild nature of the area. There is an open air 'museum' giving the history of quarrying and brick making on the site, and the construction of Holyheads' famous breakwater, an open air gallery, fishing and model boating ponds, a nature trail and several longer routes. There is a small, volunteer run cafe, and a larger cafe has recently been opened, offering bicycle hire as well. A Warden's Centre is usually open, with information leaflets and maps. The park makes an excellent gateway to walks over Holyhead Mountain, which is criss-crossed with paths, some waymarked, many not! The whole area has a fascinating history and superb views to the Skerries, mainland Anglesey, and, from the top of the mountain, panoramic views over Anglesey to the mountains of North Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula.A small charge has been introduced for parking but otherwise the park has free access.
