After a disappointing search for something to eat in Holyhead. We had the good fortune to discover this little restaurant tucked away in a side street.
Contrary to some of the comments posted on here, found it to be quite a charming place. I was sceptical about trying the Gateway, as I have no knowledge of Mexican food. But was very surprised by the high standard and presentation of the food.
The first floor of the restaurant has been made out in a '' Mexican '' theme and appeared to be recently refurbished. Consequently it had a warm and friendly atmosphere and was a pleasant place in which to dine.
Food served was reasonably basic, but very well presented and extremely tasty.
A three course meal with a couple of bottles of San Miguel, cost £22 per head.
Which to me seemed reasonable value for money.
To conclude. A very pleasant experience, which I would be happy to repeat. A safe bet for anyone tired of pounding the streets, looking in vain for food. Well worth a visit in my book
