Wow! this place is a true gem. When my partner first shared several links for me to peruse for my birthday trip, I didn't originally feel pulled to Blackthorn as one of the sites had photos that truly don't do this lovely b&b justice. On arrival we were instantly greeted by warm smiles and welcomes, and when we told the owner/mamager Richard that it was my birthday, without hesitation he offered us a complimentary bottle of wine of our choice, and a choice of room as well. All were lovely and decorated to high, clean standards. Each room has a theme and they were obviously created with love, flair and attention to detail. We chose the attic room 'Ddraenan' for its separate sofa, a bath to luxuriate in and a little more room than the other 2 we were shown (equally lovely however). With stunning views over the coastline, this b&b really comes into its own by the quality of the service and care offered to guests.
Breakfast was delicious, well presented and really well cooked. The staff were without exception really friendly and helpful and I'm looking forward to our next stay. A truly lovely memorable birthday.
My only feedback on the things that would improve it even further would be to get rid of the Nestle products in the rooms (a company with horrible ethics that really don't suit this lovely place)More
