Well worth the tremendous effort. Only visited once - that be all one could manage !
The descent down the Holy Island cliff be easy enough, the ascent up to and within the lighthouse - likewise. The views are pleasant enough from the balcony - though, that said, there little to actually take in - just sea and cliffs ! If you are lucky, and oneself was, you may notice the head of a seal bobbing up from time to time.
Upon arrival at the lighthouse, you come across a small museum about it within the lower building. This be fine - not too much to take in. There be an admission charge - one has no complaints - a small ticket is issued - and treasured !
The descent down the lighthouse and the stack itself be easy also. The problem arises upon crossing the bridge - some four hundred steps then confront you - the only way is up - this could be 'death defying' for some of us !
So, been there, done that, got the ticket and photographs to show for it - once only mind !
