We booked the room through Booking.com. On arrival we were more than disappointed that the hotel had no record of our booking. Luckily (or not) we were offered a twin room. As it was relatively late in the day we did not feel inclined to try to find alternative accommodation. To be fair the owners showed us the room before accepting our booking and due to the late hour we decided to take the room.
Although the bedding and towels were pristine, that could not be said about the room. The bathroom was filthy, cobwebs everywhere and the bath needed a good dose of bleach as could the windows.
There were tea making facilities provided but yet again the mugs needed a thorough clean.
We did have a river view, which was lovely and very relaxing.
The dining room was clean and adequate and the breakfast substantial.
A plus point about the hotel was the pizza restaurant attached. The owners/staff were above and beyond expectations,making us feel very welcome. The food was exceptional and service even better.
I feel that a complete upgrade of the decor is sorely needed, if that were done it would be an excellent hotel, worthy of the name.More
