We booked online to stay here for the weekend......we got a £99 for 2 deal.
The room was delightfully quaint and quirky..none of the 'cheap and cheerful' decor..it was lovely,,a big old fashioned wooden bed and furniture and a lovely arm chair and writing desk to lift it from a 'bedroom'
The en suite was 'snug' but practical.
The owners and the staff were delightful,,the food in the Wine Bar was delicious as were the breakfasts,,in fact,,the cooked breakfast was massive and at only £5 it was a steal
We will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a 'top room' to avoid noisy guests.

Spent a night in room 10 which is bedroom & sittingroom suite. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and warm. Furnished to a high standard with excellent tea/coffee & hot chocolate in the suite. There were 2 handmade chocolates and a small bottle of Port waiting for us on arrival. Yum!
We ate in the restaurant that night and although the menu isnt the largest Ive seen, the food was faultless.
Stuck with the continental breakfast as there was so much choice, which was again excellent.
Loved this place.
Thank you

Having spent some time here many years ago, its with some trepidation that we revisited. However, no need to worry, the warm welcome from Gilly and Richard Gale and a room not seen before but possessing all the normal Gales panache soon put us at ease. The rooms are quirky and possess non of the normal boring corporate outfitting, each is different and unusual, but at the same time extremely comfortable. The hotel is well positioned off the main drag, but just around the corner from the famous Dee River bridge. Food is bistro style and changes frequently. For wine lovers, Gales possess probably one of the finest selections in North Wales, lovingly assembled by the Owner over many years. This is well worth a try

We arrived in town late-ish and went straight to the information centre to find a B&B and this was the first one they tried for us. One room left, luckily for us. This is a very comfortable, professionally run B&B attached to a restaurant (separately reviewed) and wine bar. Off street parking behind the building is available. Great value in a great location for exploring the town on foot and a good breakfast provided in the restaurant.

Lovely room over Gales wine bar, just round the corner from the bridge over the beautiful river Dee. The room was clean, warm, lovely beds and bathroom. We ate in the wine bar and the food was delicious! Slept well, nice continental breakfast, we will definitely go there again and recommend to family and friends.

Room Tip: We had room two and that was fine.

Got this Hotel for a great price and what a real bargain it turned out to be . The building itself is amazing & i love the fact that the owner's have tried to keep as much original charm as possible . From exposed wattle & Daub Wall's , to Huge wooden beams , Vintage furniture etc . Just oozed Character . I like hotels like this , with creaky floor's and wobbly wall's especially when they are run by such lovely people who obviously care very much about their Customer's The gesture of leaving a night cap of best Port in the room was pure genius . I love Port & consequently purchased a bottle of the same brand that was on the Hospitality tray in the room . Brilliant marketing . The hotel has an adjoining wine & food bar , and also a fab Wine & Gift shop . With some quirky and charming gifts . The location of the hotel was excellent , the beds where so comfortable i nearly had to peel mine off my back . yes the room wobbled when we walked and yes the stairs where creaky but you are talking 16th century here ... i personally cannot wait to go back to the Gale's . Gilly and Richard the owners where lovely people & i very helpful with advice about where to go and what to see .There was a gorgeus continental breakfast included - and you could also purchase a hot breakfast a £5 a head . Both breakfasts where top quality .we had a cheeseboard and a few drinks in the wine & Food bar on the saturday night which was really relaxed .The owners also have 4 beautiful cottages in the village which we got chance to view and will hopefully be able to book for next year . All in all a brilliant stay - i just love these type of hotels - i really do and its a massive bonus to come across owners who still have a love for what they do and the hotel itself after nearly 30 years of ownership .Loved every minute and will go back .

A family weekend taking up four rooms and surprised how they were all so very different. We didn't dine at Gales but menu looked good and the restaurant was full on both the Friday and Saturday evenings.... The owners were all very helpfull, would definately return next time in Llangollen..

Room Tip: Car park is challenging if they are busy....
