“A perfect basecamp for exploring Northern Wales”
Reviewed July 29, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

After getting used to drive on the left side and after finding our way trough the very narrow roads leading to The Pennant, we discovered a lovely farm and the rather small but cosy bakery, where we stayed for 10 days.
The bakery has really everything you need to relax and to get away from everything (even your mobile would not work, unless you go for a little walk uphill).
There are nice people, a beautiful garden and lots of animals at The Pennant - sheep, horses, swallows, bats, rabbits, pheasants, cows, chicken, ducks, ....... and the dogs.
We had a great time at the bakery.
The hike from The Pennant to Llangollen and Dinas Bran, a ride on the Llangollen Railway, a cruise on the canal to the acquäduct and a visit to Chirk Castle are highly recommendable.
Having a car gave us the opportunity to see lots of other interesting places in Northern Wales.
Thank You
Stephan

“A Gem hidden in the valley”

Me and my partner stayed for a weekend and used it as a base to view the beautiful Welsh countryside and get out rock climbing. It is a great little cottage and we loved how clean and cosy we found it straight away. The fire prepared the first night was just a nice touch to start.

The manual that the guys have put together on the place is brilliant and full of local, history, points of interest, suggested walks, local places to eat and of course local pub opening times.

The cottage really is small (but containing everything you need) however the views really are amazing and if you can get a seat at the outside table for your breakfast it really is something to enjoy.

Would recommend, would go again.

“Amazing place to stay”
Reviewed April 23, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

This is a perfect place to stay, and it's hard to imagine how it could have been better! It's an incredible remote location (you do need a car), but still only 15/20 mins from two towns, so pretty convenient as well. The house is completely charming, and perfect for a quiet week away, with the log fire the icing on the cake. It's got everything you need, and a nice garden to catch the morning or evening sun. The hosts were really friendly and helpful. The area's just fantastic too - lots to do locally. Completely recommended.

“Total Peace”
Reviewed April 15, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We stayed for a weekend and whole feel was perfect. From the roaring fire to the period furniture coupled with the modern comforts of Sky TV,lovely shower room and a nice kitchen. The floating bedroom like being in a giant cot. Nick and Derek where always on hand if needed. If you want peace and quiet then this is the place. It is small but perfectly formed.

“The perfect place to hibernate”
Reviewed January 25, 2014 for a stay in January 2014

This lovely, tiny property is the definition of cosy for a self contained couple who long for peace and quiet and walks in rolling farm land. Characterful, comfortable and nicely furnished with old, simple but carefully selected pieces that add to the feeling of stepping back in time. A glass of red in front of the old range fire of an evening is what a winter holiday in this country should be all about.
