“Surprisingly good meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2013 via mobile

My partner and I are both chefs and having missed out on getting a table at the Corn Mill we ended up here. Low expectations, looked shabby, and only 1 other table and this on a Friday night at 8. It turns out people don't stray far from the main crawl in this town!
The mixed dim sum, crispy duck, lemon chicken were all excellent, and with just one portion of rice we still ended up full and happy. Best Chinese we've had for a long time, at a reasonable price.

“No fat customers eh?”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

Had a take away from this place - but only the once. The food wasnt bad but tiny, tiny portions. Phoned to complain, but the person I spoke to was not interested. Avoid this place unless you have a tiny appetite...

“Not a looker but great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2012

This may be tucked away up a back street but well worth looking for. The building might need a bit of a revamp but the food was excellent and I loved the fish pool inside by the counter.
Although a small dining room with only one girl waiting at tables we were looked after very well. She was polite and efficient and on hand if we needed anything. (The corn mill could use staff of her calibre.)
I had duck in orange sauce with soft noodles and my husband had honey and lemon chicken with fried rice. Both were good sized portions and really tasty. The house wine was good and reasonably priced. My husband was impressed that the coke he asked for came in the original bottle and was ice cold, not the usual overly gassed, on tap stuff that most places serve these days.
Although we visited early doors due to the international football being on TV there were other people eating too. They also seemed very happy with their meal.
The setting for the River Dragon is, as the name suggests right by the river Dee. On a summers evening it is possible to sit outside on the decking over looking the river which must be lovely, however it was chilly september when we visited.
On the whole though well done for an excellent meal and I wish we lived nearer this place as they seemed to have a very busy takeaway business too
