“Fantastic location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2013 via mobile

The location is beautiful looking over the hills and ruined castle just outside Llangollen which has plenty of restaurants and things to do. We were warmly welcomed by Mark and shown to a large family room containing comfortable double and single beds. The bedding was clean and the sheets good quality but we would have preferred duvets to blankets. The room was clean and looked lovely and even had French windows onto a decked seating area. The only let down was the shower which struggled.
Breakfast was served in the dining room with fantastic views.

Just outside town this beautiful B&B is nestled in the side of a hill just below the ruin of the old castle. Definitely a worth while hike up to see. Trail begins in town. Rooms were warm and comfortable, Baths were new and clean. Food was good and the bar well stocked. Inn keeper was friendly and helpful. Wifi only worked in the lower sitting rooms. One of them had a fire place which we needed in May. In town there is plenty to do including a ride on a steam engine pulled train and a nice river side walk. Parking in town is difficult so plan to walk it's about a quarter mile.

Room Tip: You need a room on the front side for a good view.

Our South Lancs Advanced Motorcyclists bike trip began with an overnighter at Ty'n Y Wern. Mark was there to welcome us and his hospitality was wonderful. Our room was modern, spacious, clean and comfortable, there is good cask beer in the bar and great food. It's a mile from Llangollen along a flat pavement. We were sorry to leave the next day and will definitely be back to explore the delights of the town and district and enjoy all that this great place has to offer.

A group of family and friends gathered to celebrate a 60th birthday, several guests staying overnight.
From arrival right the way through everything was top quality. Our room (room 4) was spacious light and airy, immaculately clean with stunning views and a really comfortable bed. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts Mark and Julie. The room used for the party was perfect, the food excellent. Breakfast the following morning for the three couples who stayed the night was very good too. An excellent Guest House in delightful surroundings, spotlessly clean, relaxed and friendly.

Wow! Well where do I start.
My husband and I stayed at the Ty'n y Wern after I was lucky enough to win a competition on facebook.
On pulling up into the drive I was excited the b&b looked lovely and inside was no dissapointment. we were greated by owner mark who showed us to our lovely room, its was very big and the view was Amazing.
We had booked a table for a evening meal in the downstairs resturant, and we wernt disappointed the food was so tasty it was fresh, good size portions and the old-fashioned lemmon merangue is a must! All freshly cooked by owner julie.
We woke up feeling fresh after an amazing sleep in the most softest bed ever, we then enjoyed our full english which again left us with full stomachs and smiles on our faces.
Thank you so much mark & julie we will be back and are definatly reccommending you to our friends.. see you soon

Room Tip: Room 4 big and has an amazing view.

Enjoyed one night at this hotel - room and bathroom were spacious, well-decorated and very clean. We ate in the restaurant and the food was plentiful and tasty - service was friendly. A good night's sleep was followed by a Welsh breakfast; a good stay in a pleasant hotel - recommended.

My fiancé and I stayed overnight 13th April to attend a party at a local club. We were taken to our room on arrival and we were delighted with the room which immediately struck us as light and airy and beautifully finished. The bathroom was scrupulously clean and modern and had full disabled facilities as I have mobility issues. We had a meal in the restaurant at a table by the window that looked on to the mountains. The meal was hot, looked appetising and was very tasty. After the party we decided to have a nightcap and Mark and Julie sat and chatted to us. The breakfast had locally sourced produce and was excellent.
This is definitely somewhere I would stay in the future and would not hesitate to recommend it to my friends. Thank you so much Mark and Julie.

Thank you so much for the lovely review - it is good to know the facilities for room 12 were good for you to use. It was great to sit down and have a chat later and get to know you better and are really happy you enjoyed our home-cooked food.
