Party of four visited the Bryn Howel last weekend. Delighted to meet the new owner and hear of plans to develop and improve. Some areas are tired but playing cards in front of the 'Anthem' open fire was a joy, especially as I won the game. Mr. Patrick was on hand to offer a welcoming smile. Residents were friendly and engaging. Felt very alpine, can't wait to rebook.
All good wishes from us.

Thank you kindly Braniff58
Everyone at Bryn Howel Hotel works really hard to ensure our guests are as satisfied as possible, it is a pleasure to read your comments, this type of feedback is so helpful to the whole team, and our new Owners, The Canavan Family acquired Bryn Howel Late last year and they have really transformed the quality of Service and standards back to the Bryn Howel Of Old, There is still some work to do, in fact we are looking at a long term project, Mr Canavan wishes to maintain the country house feel and reinstate the quality service Bryn Howel has been renowned for. The Canavan Family started the refurbishment project this year by upgrading the quality of the bedding, linen, towels and bathroom products. All the function rooms have received a major investment, our fabulous Valley room named so, due to the views over the Dee Valley from the large windows, this room is very popular with Weddings and functions, The Award Winning Cedar Tree Restaurant has also seen a fabulous make over, Bryn Howel Hotel has already seen a fabulous turn around in the level of business, We do take on board that there is more to do and we are committed we are very excite with the general feed back from our local and regular guests all of whom are extremely helpful with their feedback and constrictive comments.
We shall look forward to welcoming you back to Bryn Howel Hotel

Our Very Best Wishes

Diane

The Brynn Howell is very easy to find as it is well signposted off the main road Wrexham to Llangollen.
We arrived a little too early to check in so I asked the young lady if we could see the bar menu as we may have lunch there. I received very little sign of a welcome from her, although she did go to the bar for the menu, We decided to go into Llangollen and had lunch at The Royal.
When we returned to The Brynn Howell we were checked in by a man who was friendly and efficient.
Our room and the bathroom were both large and spotless as were the bedding and towels. When we first walked into the room my wife could smell cooking which must have been because the room was over the kitchen and the bedroom window had been left slightly open but I could not smell it.. There was a permament low humming sound from the kitchen but this did not bother either of us. We enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant and were looked after very well by the staff. Breakfast is buffet style juices and cereal etc. with ample choice to start and then a freshly cooked breakfast.
We look forward to staying at the hotel later in the year and can recommend this hotel.
If we have any complaint the loo roll should be better quality in the bathroom.

Dear Mr and Mrs SmithRainford
My Colleague had wrote a wonderful response to your delightful review, it seems tripadvisor are not posting all of our replies. Nevertheless please allow me to try again, Bryn Howel Hotel is perhaps one of the most Famous Hotels within the area, known for such guests as Harrison Ford, Take That and the famous Pavarotti, Bryn Howel was of course first and foremost a family home owned by the renowned Mr Edward J. Costers, a builder by trade and very well remembered by the local community. As you pointed out the kitchens are to the back of the hotel and on occasion the aroma of cooking can travel towards the bedrooms more so if the window is left open, which has been addressed, We are looking into this during the summer to redirect the fans out of the way, not a small job, As some reviewers mention from time to time the new owners have some changes taking place, it is very important to the Canavan family, that Bryn Howel retains its family feel, to everyones delight, they have accomplished a great deal in the past 6 months, from Staff training which has had a big impact on the customer service the quality of food, the quality of our linen which you have pointed out, this is all 4 start quality, it is important for readers to know that Bryn Howel means so much to the local community here in the area and the new owners have taken this into consideration when investing in the changes taking place at Bryn Howel, the grounds have never looked so nice, we are still working very hard to clean up after all the damage caused by the heavy snow fall, the famous Cedar Tree has lost almost 50% of its branches not to mention the damage to the area in general.

We really would like to say a big thank you for your review it means allot to us, and we are looking forward to your return visit.

Kindest regards
Dianne

We were married at the Bryn Howel at the end of March '12 and had such a wonderful Wedding weekend that it was a foregone decision to celebrate our first anniversary in such a wonderful setting.

Although there has been a change of ownership since our Wedding the welcome was as friendly and the ambience as welcoming, indeed, we felt treated as old friends and not as paying customers.

We were booked into the Sovereign Suite (Room 9), that same room we had shared on our first night of married life, and it was as magical as ever - we can only say it really is worth splashing out for that special occasion.

It was particuarly comforting to see Patrick again at the front of house - he really is a credit, and a great asset, to the hotel. His attentiveness is second to none.

The buffet style breakfast and the evening menu where again first class as was the selection of wines (We can recommend the Tempranilo) and we'd say if you've booked room & breakfast give the restaurant a go one evening

Although some changes are planned, and some areas of the hotel are in need of a little TLC, it would be a shame if the general "country house hotel" feel were lost

Thank you both Kindly for your Fabulous review.
We were all simply delighted to welcome you both Back to Bryn Howel Hotel on your first anniversary. It is a real pleasure to work with a team that really put their hearts into their work, it is very difficult to single anyone of them out as they all do a wonderful job in their respective departments, However thank you for mentioning how pleased you both were with Patrick he is a fabulous leader of his team and so helpful to each and every guest. Chef is really outstanding his attention to every detail is a credit to him and his team, Breakfast is absolutely wonderful the choice as you mentioned is very comprehensive indeed.
The wine Menu has had my personal attention and is coming along very nicely indeed with a wide selection of wines from around the world, I have introduced some new spanish wines which I felt need to be available again in my opinion they are among the best in the world perhaps the best value for money on the market at the moment, I have been very lucky to have worked alongside a connoisseur of spanish wines, so It is my privilege to pass on that expertise to my customers.
You have pointed out that Bryn Howel Hotel Has undergone changes in various areas this is in fact an ongoing programme which I hope to have finished at the end of this year however there is much more I wish to accomplish at Bryn Howel Hotel before the year is complete.
Do keep an eye on our new website which as the weeks and months pass will be very informative indeed on the upgrades taking place throughout our Bedrooms and public areas together with the grounds and gardens .
Of course it will be lovely to see you both again soon when you can see for your self how Bryn Howel is constantly improving and upgrading.

My I thank you both for taking the time to write your thoughtful review,

From everyone here at Bryn Howel Hotel we wish you both all the very best and many many happy long years together.

Wonderful hotel and lovely staff. Stayed on Easter Sunday after having lunch in the restaurant which was first class as always.
The room we had (room 14) was beautiful with a 4poster bed and it was very spacious and clean.
Would highly recommend a stay here.
Have been coming here for lunch for a few years from Warrington, Cheshire but this was the first time we have stayed over.

Room Tip: Room 14 is lovely - great view

Dear Mr H
What a pleasure to read your thoughtful and considerate review of Bryn Howel Hotel, We are extremely proud of our Fabulous Housekeeping Team, they all work very hard indeed and sometimes go unnoticed due to the High standards of cleanliness through the whole hotel.
It is therefore very helpful indeed to hear from our guests that they are satisfied with our standards.
Everyone deserves a lot of credit and a big THANK YOU, for managing the extreme conditions and such heavy snow fall, we are still counting the damage toll, But looking back it has been an experience to remember by all,
You can rest assured that the changes to Bryn Howel Hotel are all within keeping to the style of the fabulous country house that it still remains, We are delighted with the feed back from our customers regarding the ongoing improvements taking place.
Chef has made a superb change to the menus with the award winning Cedar Tree Restaurant and Lounge Bar with it outstanding ornate ceiling, which to my surprise holds My very own initials, how strange.
Regardless It is an absolute delight to read your wonderful comments and please note that we do act of your feed back , in fact your comments where read out today at out head of department meeting.
I shall look forward to meeting you once again on your return visit,

On behalf of my Team, Thank you kindly
